Sinopsis

This is not your traditional cookbook in which you’ll see pictures that accompany recipes for various dishes and desserts you might normally expect to find in so many other places online and offline. Instead, I have based this book on my own step-by-step process to follow for cooking certain items such as chicken on top of covering steps you must take in order to not mess up your cooking experience on any given day.

Based on my personal experience as a chef, I have put together a collection of things I have learned to do in regard to solving my cooking mishaps and never repeating them – I have also blended in tidbits partially based on what I have posted on my food preparation blog from time to time.

Ultimately, you will learn the techniques that count toward cooking more efficiently and reducing hassle. Plus, you’ll receive advice on how to effectively fix some dishes such as burritos and enchiladas on a do-it-yourself basis without actually using a recipe – my own instructions on fixing Sloppy Joes, pasta and other items are also included.

This book is for kids and adults who want to learn to cook.

A collection of classic baking recipes from an early twentieth-century magazine serving American farm kitchens, updated for the contemporary home cook.

Long before the Internet and high-speed travel connected us all, The Farmers Wife magazine gave hard-working rural women a place to find and share advice about everything from raising chickens to running a farm kitchen. One of the magazines most popular offerings was advice on baking, providing farm family recipes for making everything from basic bread to much-loved holiday desserts. The elaborate cakes and company pies, the dainties and muffins for club luncheons, the rich breads for a warming breakfast or a lunch-bucket sandwich, the profusion of pies for threshing parties, the specialties like Cornish Pasties and Danish Kranse—all are here, inviting readers everywhere to recreate the fragrant kitchens and delectable tastes of farm days gone by. Adapted for the needs of the modern kitchen, these classic recipes preserve the flavor of a life dedicated to feeding not just the family, but the nation. They offer readers nostalgia and the chance to bake in a tradition unmatched since the 1930s.

When astronomers wanted a telescope that could capture X-rays from celestial bodies, they looked to the lobster. When doctors wanted a medication that could stabilize Type II diabetic patients, they found their muse in a lizard. When scientists wanted to drastically reduce emissions in cement manufacturing, they observed how corals construct their skeletons in the sea. This is biomimicry in action: taking inspiration from nature to tackle human challenges.

In Nature's Wild Ideas, Kristy Hamilton goes behind the scenes of some of our most unexpected innovations. She traverses frozen waterfalls, treks through cloudy forests, discovers nests in the Mojave desert, scours intertidal zones, and takes us to the deepest oceans and near volcanoes to introduce us to the animals and plants that have inspired everything from cargo routing systems to non-toxic glues, and the men and women who followed that first spark of "I wonder" all the way to its conclusion, sometimes against all odds.

While the joy of scientific discovery is front and center, Nature's Wild Ideas is also a love letter to nature—complete with a deep message of conservation: If we are to continue learning from the creatures around us, we must protect their untamed homelands.

    THE VOICE
THE ULTIMATE TRIVIA AND CURIOUS FACTS COLLECTION

    CREATED BY TRIVIA HUB

The Voice is an American singing competition television series that premiered on NBC in 2011. The show seeks to find unsigned singing talent through public auditions. The competition is open to solo or duet artists aged 13 and up. The winner receives $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Music Group.

The series features a panel of four coaches who critique the artists' performances and mentor their teams. The coaches compete to have their act win, making them the winning coach. The show employs a "blind audition" format, where coaches select artists based on their voice alone. The coaches' chairs turn towards an artist they want. The coaches also use "blocks" and "replays".

    CURIOUS FACT SAMPLES:

The Voice is an American singing competition based on the original The Voice of Holland. It is the only version in the franchise that doesn't include its country's name.

The show's concept involves "Blind Auditions" where coaches select team members based solely on voice, with chairs turned away from the performer. If more than one coach wants the same artist, the artist gets to choose which coach they want to work with.

In the "Battle Rounds," coaches pair up their team members to perform duets, and then choose one to advance. Celebrity advisors help the coaches with this process.

The "Knockout Rounds" feature individual performances by paired teammates, who are not told who they are paired with until a few minutes prior to performing. The artists choose their own songs, with continued advice from their coaches.

    THE MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE
THE ULTIMATE TRIVIA AND CURIOUS FACTS COLLECTION

    CREATED BY TRIVIA HUB

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is a shared universe of interconnected films, television series, and other media properties, based on Marvel Comics characters. Kevin Feige is a key figure in its development, having conceived the shared media universe and serving as the studio chief. Initially planned as a series of individual films that merged into crossovers, the MCU has expanded to include television event series, short films, and digital content, all contributing to an overarching narrative. The MCU's narrative is divided into phases, with the first three phases collectively known as "The Infinity Saga" and phases four through six known as "The Multiverse Saga". Marvel Studios has also created an animation branch to produce more animated content. The MCU has also expanded into other media, such as theme park attractions, exhibits, documentaries and books.

    CURIOUS FACT SAMPLES:

The Marvel Cinematic Universe was initially referred to as the "Marvel Cinema Universe" by Kevin Feige before he changed the name. The shared narrative continuity expanded beyond just films to include other media.

Marvel Studios secured a $525 million revolving credit facility with Merrill Lynch to raise capital for their film projects. This funding enabled the studio to plan individual films for main characters that would eventually merge into crossover movies.

Avi Arad, who resigned from Marvel in 2006, doubted the shared universe strategy would work, and felt it was his reputation that secured the initial financing. He did not believe that individual films would be successful.

An electric counter-top ice cream maker with an insulated steel bowl that is frozen before use, a mixing arm or blade (sometimes called a dasher), and a mechanism to turn the freezer bowl is the ideal appliance for making the ice cream recipes contained in this book in the middle of the spectrum. In addition, Cuisinart and Hamilton Beach both produce models that are quite popular. The same concepts are utilized by Kitchen Aid's ice cream-making accessories for their stand mixers, which are manufactured by the company. This particular model of electric ice cream maker was used to test each and every one of the ice creams that are included in this dessert cookbook, so you can be assured that they are ideal for the task at hand. In this article, we have compiled fifty different recipes for homemade ice cream, and we have made an effort to simplify them as much as possible by utilizing ingredients that are readily available at your neighborhood grocery store. This cookbook contains the following items: Recipes for traditional ice cream include butterscotch classics, traditional vanilla custard gelato, and California cookies-n-cream soft serve ice cream.
