Sinopsis

James Trevalyan came from a long line of men who served the British Crown with their gift of a voice with compelling power, and kept that tradition going while he loved and lived with Jeremy Waters. When Jeremy died in his arms, James resolved to live without love. His family keeps him connected to life -- Jamie, his son from his brief marriage to an American, and Pamela, his beloved little sister, caught in a loveless marriage to a cold, cruel man.
Then Tanner comes into his life, a clever and handsome agent who joins him in an ongoing undercover mission. How long will it take James to realize he and Tanner are meant for each other? And can Tanner survive the assignment that's thrown him in with mobsters who want him dead simply because he knows too much?

Hearts may freeze or thaw, but love never dies.

In December 2013, an ice storm buries Toronto as realtor Laura Keys prepares to sell a one-of-a-kind house on behalf of its comatose owner. Haunting Laura, and longing to be invited in, is a mysterious teenage girl with a Scottish terrier tucked into her coat.

As Laura readies the house for showing, she learns more about its owner, Edna "Eddie" Ferguson. Leading up to the Great Snowstorm of 1944, Eddie, a brickmaker, enters into a passionate yet ill-fated affair with her boss's daughter. While uncovering the past, Laura navigates both the death of her mother and a troubled marriage straining under the weight of her infertility.

Across two paralyzing winter storms, set nearly seventy years apart and connected by a house and a murder, Semi-Detached contends with living after loss, love, and the meaning of home.

Insightful and evocative, emotionally intelligent and propulsive, this is a novel from a writer at the top of her game.

Queerness, family, magic and Indiana weather combine in These Indiana Winters, B. T. Roen's debut chapbook. Their imagination skips across Seussian animals, fantastical characters, and the struggles of being a queer pastor's kid in the Midwest. Roen's wit and wonder reveals a spark of magic hidden in the everyday.
Roen chronicles their growing-up years and coming out journey in this little poetic adventure. The speaker has a jumping contest with Jack Frost (they lose), find their gender paralleled in the natural world, and finally turn from the turbulence of self-discovery to comfort their younger self.
    Approximately 26 pages.

There are eight million stories in the City of Angels but only one man can stumble upon the body of a former client while being chased by a pair of Dobermans and a deranged psycho dressed as a sheep. That man is Cole McGinnis. Since his last life-threatening case years ago, McGinnis has married the love of his life, Jae-Min Kim, consulted for the LAPD, and investigated cases as a private detective for hire. Yet nothing could have prepared him for the shocking discovery of a dead, grandmotherly woman at his feet and the cascade of murders that follows, even if he should have been used to it by now. Now he's back in the dark world of murder and intrigue where every bullet appears to have his name on it and every answer he digs up seems to only create more questions. Hired by the dead woman's husband, McGinnis has to figure out who is behind the crime spree. As if the twisted case of a murdered grandmother isn't complicated enough, Death is knocking on his door, and each time it opens, Death is wearing a new face, leaving McGinnis to wonder who he can actually trust.

Augustus Walker, Jr. is a problem.
Every queer person I know has had a tragic crush on a straight person at some point in their lives, and for the last year, Walker has been mine.
Not that my crush on him is serious—I'm just appreciating a sweet, sexy guy who happens to be a big fat goose egg on the Kinsey scale.
    Le sigh and all that.
The Lost Boys—my queer friends from high school—insist, however, that he gets flustered every time we're in the same room together. Last night, he blushed when I teased him about his perfect abs.
I'm afraid to push because I respect his sexuality, and I see how his family feels about him having a bunch of gay friends.
Still, I gotta wonder… am I the only one with a crush?
