Sinopsis

Want to make it among the wealthy, upper-class students at the University of Oxford? Then you'd better have something interesting to say when people ask about your identity.
Luckily, Edward does. Though he can boast neither an expensive education nor a nice room in college, he does have a long-dead Muslim grandfather from an obscure African country... At the beginning of his second year, everyone wants to get close to him—including, to his astonishment, the beautiful and highly unstable Angelica Mountbatten-Jones.
As Edward scrabbles to fit in, his new friends start to grow suspicious. How will they react when they realise he hasn't been entirely honest? What will Angelica do if she finds out about his complicated feelings towards a Jewish girl on his course? Will Edward manage to carve out a space for himself at Oxford, or will the truth get in the way?
A darkly comic debut, Shibboleth drags the English campus novel into the divided, multicultural, hyperactive present day.
"A talent for comedy is rare in fiction. Lambert has it, in abundance."—Tim Parks, author of Mr Geography
"Engrossing and thought-provoking."—Tomiwa Olowade, author of This is Not America
?"Gloriously impious and thrillingly alive."—Rob Doyle, author of Threshold

“Razes, Razes, snatched away … Razes, Razes, break your chains …”
The Raze gang have lost to the cunning of the Wolf. Yet, worse than facing the overlord of the snatchers, and the king of The Hunt – they must now face off with one of their own. The original, most deadly of the Razes has been turned against them.
Dom is caught in a nightmare battle with himself, with his own mind, and with the Razes he has forgotten that he loves. Kiddo is in a nightmare battle to make Dom remember, and to reclaim those who were taken from him, before it’s too late for the damage to be undone.
A gritty urban backdrop, gang warfare, a vigilante hero, a corrupt system, and a bisexual awakening. Join the action and enjoy the ride.
    Interview with the Author:
    Q. What could readers compare the ‘Raze Warfare’ series to?
    A. It has a similar tone to ‘The Outsiders,’ with a gang like a family of very different people who need each other.
    Q. What makes this series different?
    A. Girls are kick ass members of the gang. Sexualities are open (there’s a bisexual triad romance – why choose?). There are diverse racial backgrounds. There’s some gender bending. The enemy is more covert, but widespread – a corrupt underground system. And the gang members enforce vigilante justice, while battling their own demons – ranging from trauma to learning difficulties.
    Q. What do you love most about this series?
    A. I love that Kiddo and Raze are so different – opposites attract. Their deepening, first time gay romance felt so intimate and sweet and real to write. I especially loved including so many diverse kinds of people without feeling the need to centre the story on their background, because people are people. I loved having them there, as they are, rolling with the punches as people do – rather than the storyline centring on any stereotypes.

Holding the faded postcard in her trembling hands, Mia begins to read the one story her grandmother could never tell her, revealing a secret that will change her own life forever…

When her beloved grandmother, Ilse, is taken into hospital, Mia drops everything to travel to Germany and care for the woman who raised her. But when her grandmother briefly wakes up and asks for a man called Szymon, Mia is confused. Who is he? And why does her grandmother need to see him so desperately?

Later that night, Mia returns to her grandmother’s apartment to search for clues. She soon discovers a small parcel hidden inside one of Ilse’s suitcases. When she removes the wrapping, she finds a stack of faded postcards neatly bound together, signed with a name that makes her heart stop in her chest: Szymon.

Desperate to find Szymon before it is too late, Mia unearths a story her grandmother never told her: of childhood friendship and heartbreaking young love on the eve of the Second World War, and of a plan to rescue a young man imprisoned by the Nazis. Mia can’t quite believe her grandmother was so brave, and risked so much to save this man’s life… But did she succeed?

As the final pieces of the past come together, Mia realizes that she is about to find out what really happened to her grandmother during the war. But she doesn’t expect to uncover a secret that will change everything…

“A real page turner and one I lost several hours sleep to, wanting to turn just another page before I put it down. Another cracker from Charlotte Barnes, can't wait for the next.” —Goodreads reviewer, five starsA writer interrogates a woman who may or may not have killed her husband, in a taut tale of psychological suspense by the author of Sincerely, Yours. After twenty-five years in the remote English countryside, living under an assumed name, Erica Miller has decided it’s time for the world to hear her story—from her point of view, rather than from the tabloids or the gossips who think she got away with murder. She hires Prudence Carr to write about her privileged childhood, her marriage, the affairs, the day her husband disappeared, and the day his body was found in the marshes. Despite evidence against her, the jury refused to convict, leaving Erica to live a life of quiet isolation. Erica has a lot to say. But as the story unfolds, so does Prudence. It is clear that this project could make Prudence’s career. In this compelling novel of mystery and deceit, everything will depend on who gets the last word . . .

After four years of training to become a Navy SEAL, Ned Marshall is finally ready to marry the woman of his dreams, Shae Johnson. And Shae’s been uber patient, waiting, building a life as a free-lance graphic artist, moving around the globe to be with him. So, when she said yes to his proposal in Geneva, he fully expected to live happily-ever-after.
At the very least, he expected her to be waiting at the hotel for him three days after an emergency call-out. And maybe it was unreasonable to expect her to be sitting in the hotel, working on her watercolors—Shae, after all grew up in Montana, and she has adventure in her blood. So of course she’s going to go climb the beautiful Swiss mountains. Even make a friend.
But Ned isn’t thrilled with her new friend, and something about him doesn’t feel safe…
So she’s made some friends while waiting for Ned to return? Shae can’t believe that after years of sacrifice, Ned is actually angry at her—what did he expect, that she’d sit by the window? Dana and his friends are harmless, right?
Not so much. Because when Shae finds herself kidnapped, and brought to Russia, she fears the worst—she’s been swept up in a human trafficking ring. And when she’s sent to, of all places, Siberia how will Ned ever find her?
But Ned isn’t going to lose her—not after everything they’ve been through, and he’ll stop at nothing to rescue her. But when he discovers the real reason she’s been taken, he will have to become a traitor to his country if he wants her back.
Join the epic race to rescue Shae in the high-adrenaline book three in the Minnesota Marshalls series.
