Summary

BOOK DESCRIPTION

Over the years, black tourism has grown into a billion-dollar industry. It’s a wonderful feeling to see more black travel content on social media. Unfortunately, our presence is still minimum compared to other demographics.

The Blerd Explorer has returned to create a new travel guide for black people by black people. This guide will now focus on the city of Daegu, South Korea, one of the largest cities in Korea. Daegu is one of the cities that continues to be overshadowed by Seoul and Busan. This city has such a unique charm and identity that it's a shame no one has made a travel guide for this place until now. This book will provide various locations to visit, tips, and suggestions on where to go. And for the first time, readers will be able to read stories from other black people who have lived in Korea.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

The Blerd (Black Nerd) Explorer, also known as the 6thRaikage in the Korean Smash Bros scene is an avid traveler. He is motivated to create travel content due to the lack of travel information from the viewpoint of a black person. As a member of the black community, he understands the need to have more travel guides, blogs, and various forms of travel media to show our community that there is an amazing world out there that we can explore. Instead of sitting around saying what could be, he began to share his own travel stories to encourage black people around the world to travel. As he continues to explore the world, he will be sharing his travel experiences along the journey and it is his hope that his content will help to broaden the horizons of people in the black community with regards to travel.

This “fantastic collection of the Mountain State's ghostlore . . . takes readers into the legends and the phenomena like no one else can” (Jeff Belanger, author of The World’s Most Haunted Places). Rich in history and natural splendor, West Virginia also boasts a wealth of unexplained mysteries. In this volume, noted paranormal researcher Rosemary Ellen Guiley delves into more than one hundred accounts of hauntings from across the state.   From the restless spirits of the Hatfields and McCoys to John Brown’s ghost at Harper’s Ferry, Guiley shows that the region’s history is still very much with us. She also explores lesser-known mysterious places such as Droop Mountain, where headless spectors roam, and the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, a site replete with tortured phantoms. Around the campfire or tucked away on a dark and stormy night, this big book of ghost stories is a hauntingly good read.

The acclaimed artist and architect shares a strolling, personal tour of a city that has become his creative muse and home away from home.   Over the years, Danish architect and artist Mikael Olrik has developed a special relationship with New York City, finding endless inspiration in the vibrant and ever-changing metropolis. In Walks in My New York, Olrik shares his fascinating perspective on New York life through a combination of watercolor, photography and text.   Olrik explores the city with the broad view of an architect, the specificity of an artist, the straight-forwardness of a photographer, and the companionable text of a diarist. He captures everything from street scenes of everyday life to pastoral views of Central Park and landmarks such as the Empire State Building and the Brooklyn Bridge. Small maps accompany each entry and act as a sort of ‘GPS’ in print.

This book will give tourists and travelers a description of each of the 50 destinations with a personal explanation giving an insight as to why, and how, these destinations consistently deliver high quality visitor experiences. It aims to show the visitor how good management and an understanding of the importance of hospitality underpins the success of each destination. Tourists are now very interested in knowing more about how the places they visit are organized and how they get things right.

For the tourism professional and future destination managers and marketers, the Professional Edition will have the same core content as the Consumer Edition, exploring the destinations plus a detailed analysis of international best practice in destination management written with deep insight and research supported by extensive bibliography. It will be a major reference book on successful destination management based on my 40 years working in the industry in over 55 countries.

    - This is not a typical language-driven, promotional bucket-list guidebook. Stevens gives these destinations real world context. An “authoritative, comprehensive, well written, and entertaining” guide to staying alive in the desert from a Texas Parks and Wildlife veteran (Library Journal).   Remote desert locations, including the Chihuahuan Desert of northern Mexico, southern Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona, draw adventurers of all kinds, from the highly skilled and well prepared to urban cowboys who couldn’t lead themselves, much less a horse, to water. David Alloway’s goal in this book is to help all of them survive when circumstances beyond their control strand them in the desert environment.   In simple, friendly language, enlivened with humor and stories from his own extensive experience, Alloway—a naturalist and search-and-rescue veteran who’s worked with the US Air Force on survival skills—here offers a practical, comprehensive handbook for both short-term and long-term survival in the Chihuahuan and other North American deserts.
