Sinopse

In the rugged Arizona town of Two Forks, Tally Stevens knows he’s outmatched. With miners turning up dead, he sends for help from his old friends, Brian and Mark Bailey. But with Brian injured, it’s up to Mark and their trusted friend Joe Lamprey to ride to Tally’s aid.

As Mark takes over as the town’s marshal, he faces lawless gunmen and a sniper aiming to take him down. With reinforcements riding in from the Box T Ranch and Luke Bailey rallying the cowboys, they prepare for a final showdown.

But as the enemy’s grip tightens and hired guns pour into town, a climactic battle will decide the fate of Two Forks. In the West, justice is served in only one way: through a hail of gunfire.

A fast-shooting adventure in the Old West, THE MARSHAL OF TWO FORKS is the fourth book in the Bailey Clan Westerns series by Terence Newnes.

Author Edith Wharton is best known for her books set amongst the upper-echelon of New York society, including "The House of Mirth" and "The Age of Innocence," (the latter of which won her the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction).
But Wharton also wrote two American classics that take place in rural settings: the then-scandalous tale of youthful rebellion,"Summer" and her haunting novel of love and regret, "Ethan Frome." Both have gone on to be considered among the finest novels of the early 20th century.
We are proud to present both of these books in one volume, each in their original and unabridged format.

When the New Mexico territory is annexed by the United States in the mid-1800's, the Catholic Church decides it is time to re-assert its authority in the region which, due to centuries of neglect, is now a haven for corrupt priests. The Vatican chooses Father Jean Marie Latour, a French Jesuit living in Ohio, to accomplish this task and, soon after elevating him to bishop, sends him on his journey into the Wild West. What follows is an epic, forty year tale of hardship, challenge and triumph as Bishop Latour slowly makes his way to Santa Fe, enduring bitter cold and blistering heat, battles corruption in the new territory and, ultimately, wins the respect of the people of Santa Fe and brings order to the Church in New Mexico. Hailed as a triumph when it was released in 1927, Willa Cather's "Death Comes for the Archbishop" has become a beloved literary classic and it is presented here in its original and unabridged format.
