Assigned to the case, Collins and new partner Deirdre Donnelly soon find out that there is a misogynistic apparatus, male dark forces at play with plans to attack and kill many more women. In a race against time and utter unacceptance of female degradation violence, Collins and Deirdre have to find the killer before he acts again. But can they? Donnelly and her competitive and previously famous sportsman partner hate to lose, but when one of Ireland's most dangerous criminals turns up in Collins' home turf, West Cork, old sparring partner Superintendent Buckley insists he move case.

The West Cork investigation imploding and climaxing into a brutal killing, we quickly learn this utterly likeable detective cans sometimes be violent and ruthless. A respected professional, he is often perceived as a wild card amongst the Garda ranks. The witness of this murder in West Cork spurs him into battle. How far will he go to avenge that death? Will Collins become a killer, too?

We are shown the dark realism of crime and the battles of will and intelligence that go on in the world policing. A strong sense of place combined with a shocking double climax makes this second installment of the Tim Collins series a thrilling read.

For fans of Lisa Scottoline, Lisa Gardner, and Diane Chamberlain — a propulsive legal thriller where the most dangerous courtroom is the one you never saw coming.
Houston ADA Jennifer Herrington has never lost a murder case. But she's never defended one either.
When her husband Aaron drags her to Wyoming for her cousin's rodeo Hall of Fame induction, Jennifer expects a long weekend of inconvenience before returning to her career, her condo, and the DA candidacy that could define her future. Instead, she finds a body in a septic tank, a sweet-natured lodge owner covered in blood with no memory of the night before, and a husband who has quietly, cheerfully, and catastrophically decided to upend their entire Houston life.
George Nichols didn't kill Hadley Prescott. Jennifer is almost certain of it. But certainty doesn't win cases — evidence does. And the evidence is impossible: George and the murder victim share identical DNA. Not similar. Identical. The kind of identical that only means one thing.
As Jennifer digs deeper — navigating a hostile county attorney, a fresh-out-of-law-school co-counsel, a descented skunk she's inexplicably fallen in love with, and a marriage unraveling in real time — she begins to realize the murder may not have been about the victim at all. Someone meant to kill George. And they haven't finished yet.
Part legal thriller, part love story, part Wyoming survival guide — Big Horn is 1st in this irresistible series, which is part 4 of the What Doesn't Kill You Super Series. Perfect for readers who like their courtroom drama with emotional depth, dark humor, and a skunk named Jeremiah Johnson. Author Pamela Fagan Hutchins lives on the face of Wyoming's Bighorn Mountains, like Jenn. The settings are real. The people may be, too.
She came to Wyoming to save her marriage. She stayed to save a man's life. She nearly lost both.

Imagine a strange, tropical place that is almost inaccessible. Time appears to have stood still there. Species of animal and plant life not seen elsewhere on Earth, except in the fossil record, inhabit the place. The lakes heave with the shapes of huge grey bulks moving under the surface. The woods are places where chittering cries move about above your head, as powerful apes move swiftly in the canopy of leaves. Then, a tree splinters nearby, and a dinosaur steps out from his hiding place... and he's eyeing YOU.
Jurassic Park? Not quite. The Lost World was an inspiration for Jurassic Park; in fact, a character in J.P. has the same name as one of the chief characters in The Lost World. It also inspired King Kong. But this is the original! Four adventurers go off to find the place shown in a dead man's sketch book - they find a war between apes and Indians, prowling dinosaurs, a sparkly treasure hidden in the blue clay - they find the Lost World. And because of the treachery of a native guide, their means of escape is destroyed!
