Summary

Tall, red-haired Liz Connors is a former college professor turned crime writer who is expert at digging up details even the cops couldn't find.  This time she has to: her lover, Detective Lieutenant Jack Lingemann, is being held without bail on a murder charge, and all Boston is crying for his head.She enlists the help of two reporters and two cop-friends to dig up information that lies buried in the annals of Cambridge history.
