Sinopse

 Alluring moony night time...
A thick, charming darkness sings;
wooing the aura!

'LOVE AND LIES' is a collection of around 40 poems on relationships, the ups and downs that come along with it, a person'sfalling apart but gathering oneself back from that same broken bits. This book s dedicated to the ones that have loved, lost or never been loved at all.

A note from the author regarding visual poems included in the collection:

Lately I've been creating these Concrete poems. This category of poetry is an arrangement of linguistic elements in which the typographical effect is more important in conveying meaning than verbal significance. I however tried to give some of them an opposite meaning as compared to what the images show. The santa image has a ghost poetry, Cheerleader is describes a witch & the aardvark is quite honestly about my cat. Hope you enjoy reading. Cheers!

  • How I Found the Lost Atlantis! by Dr Paul Schliemann - narrated by Michael Henrik Wynn - cover

    How I Found the Lost Atlantis!...

    Dr. Paul Schliemann

    The article on which this audio book is based was published in the 'New York American' on October 20th, 1912.
    The author, Dr. Paul Schliemann, was the grandson of Heinrich Schliemann (1822 - 1890), a founder of modern archaeology. In this famous archaeological hoax he makes outrageous and sensational claims about the lost continent Atlantis, and his grandfather’s research.
    The text was written in an age when many of the Victorian adventure writers, like H. Rider Haggard in Britain, Emilio Salgari in Italy and Karl May in Germany topped reading lists. In 1912, the jungle calls of Tarzan echoed through American pulp magazines for the very first time.
    Paul Schliemann capitalizes on the contemporary craze for his grandfather’s archaeological discoveries, for lost worlds and legendary characters like the queen of Sheba and Prester John. Since 1907, Howard Carter had been excavating in Egypt, and in 1922 Carter made his historical discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun.
    Paul Schliemann’s article is highly entertaining, and features passages reminiscent of Indiana Jones. Michael Henrik Wynn, the editor of the educational net radio stream Historyradio.org, gives a spirited performance of what has become a classic and much loved hoax in archaeological circles.

    Few women artists feature prominently in the history of art, and even fewer who are mothers. What can we learn about ambition, limitation, and creativity from women who persist in doing both?

    Forged in the stress of early motherhood, The Mother Artist explores the fraught yet generative ties between caregiving and creative practice. As a young mother working at a museum, essayist Catherine Ricketts began asking questions about the making of motherhood and the making of art. Now, with incantatory prose and an intuitive gaze, she twines intimate meditations on parenthood with studies of the work and lives of painters, writers, dancers, musicians, and other creatives. Ricketts takes listeners through the studios of mother artists, placing us in the company of women from the past and the present who persevere in both art and caregiving. We encounter Senga Nengudi's sculptures, which celebrate the pregnant body, and Toni Morrison's powerful writing on childbirth. We behold Joan Didion's meditations on maternal grief and Alice Neel's portraits of mothers and babies. And we observe the ambition of sculptor Ruth Asawa, the activism of printmaker Elizabeth Catlett, and the constancy of writer Madeleine L'Engle. This book is for mothers who aspire to make art, anyone eager to discover the stories of visionary women, and all who long for a revolution of tenderness.

    During a time when America was reeling from turmoil, Hollywood held an indelible mirror up to a changing society. Films like Bonnie and Clyde, The Graduate, Cool Hand Luke, and In the Heat of the Night would define the era. But it was a gritty, violent, darkly comic World War II movie called The Dirty Dozen that would really strike a chord with audiences—and become the year's biggest box office success. Heading up the all-star cast were Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, John Cassavettes, Charles Bronson, Donald Sutherland, Jim Brown, Robert Ryan, Clint Walker, and at his most terrifying best, Telly Savalas, propelling many of them to stardom.
