tenderhead. is just that: tender. A full spectrum of emotion presented with all the love and care it deserves but so seldom receives. This book blends pain, love, joy, and rage almost seamlessly with a wicked sense of humour that cushions each blow as it comes. It reaches back and forward to depict queer Black girls as current and timeless and utterly sublime as the night sky. When you read tenderhead. you won't immediately notice that you've swallowed a mouthful of bees. If you have a bellyful of flowers you will walk away in full bloom, knowing that you – queer Black girl—are the whole world. If you don't, you will leave stung and swollen and deeply uncomfortable. Both may happen. Both are important. (Maz Hedgehog)

A gripping new version of Strindberg's masterly, darkly hilarious depiction of the struggles and strains of marriage.
Meet Edgar and Alice. Married for over thirty years, theirs is a relationship of explosive mutual loathing. Strindberg's tale paints a compulsive and bitterly funny portrait of a magnificently doomed couple, whose ongoing battle threatens not only their future, but that of their friends and children as well.
This new version offers audiences a unique chance to see not only Part One but also the rarely performed Part Two of this masterpiece of European theatre condensed into a single two-act drama.

The gripping story of the sensational, real-life case in which Sir Arthur Conan Doyle found himself playing detective - based on Julian Barnes's Booker Prize-nominated novel.
In 1903, Birmingham solicitor George Edalji was found guilty of a terrible crime and sentenced to seven years' imprisonment. Desperate to prove his innocence, he recruited Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of Sherlock Holmes, to help solve his mysterious case and win him a pardon.
As absorbing as any Sherlock Holmes mystery, Arthur & George also raises many questions about guilt and innocence, identity, nationality and race.
'That the creator of Sherlock Holmes should turn sleuth himself is a life-mirroring-art marvel that continues to fascinate more than 100 years on. David Edgar has distilled 500 pages into two-and-a-half hours of theatre - involving you in the whodunnit aspect of the case while serving the finer intellectual textures of the novel' - Daily Telegraph

A collection, The Culprit Fay and Other Poems, was published posthumously by his daughter in 1835. His best-known poems are the long title-poem of that collection and the patriotic "The American Flag" which was set as a cantata for two soloists, choir and orchestra by the Czech composer Antonin Dvorák in 1892-93, as his Op. 102. In the early part of the 19th Century both Drake and his friend Halleck were widely hailed by Americans as among the leading literary personalities and talents produced by this country. That they had been leading lights in the New York area was true, but the glimmer for both could not really hold. It was finally diminished by Edgar Allan Poe when he wrote a serious study of the two poets called The Halleck - Rodman Review. Looking at The Culprit Fay by Drake, Poe showed that the imagery many marveled at was quite second-rate and ordinary. In fact, he briefly invented new lines to show how easily it could be done. The reputations of both Drake and Halleck never recovered. (Summary excerpted from Wikipedia)
