Sinopse

Are you ready to stop suffering from feelings of fear and unworthiness? Are you ready to heal the pain in your most important relationships? Are you ready to love and be loved? For more than a decade, renowned “Scripture Evangelista” Sonja Corbitt has inspired Catholic audiences with her teachings on how to read the Bible and apply its principles to everyday life. In her flagship book Love Heals, Corbitt distills her years of ministry and teaching to explore scripture as a profound source for healing. She emphasizes that the key to whole-person healing is found in the greatest commandment: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength . . . and your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:30). According to Corbitt this commandment is not given for God’s benefit but for ours “because God’s love has the power to heal every part of us: painful emotions, fears, and memories; judgments, deficits, and wounds of love; oppressive, anxious, negative thoughts; and weary, diseased bodies.” Drawing from the healing stories of the gospels as well as her own life experiences, Corbitt shows how the love of Jesus brings healing to every wounded and broken part of us so that we can, in turn, pour that love into everyone we meet. Love Heals will teach you to recognize areas of your life that are wounded by sin, neglect, and weakness and respond to God’s invitation for healing (Mark 12:30); heal “blind spots” in your emotions and memories and address the root cause of your suffering—just as Jesus healed blind Bartimaeus (Mark 10:46–52); encounter Christ through the sacraments, affirming your identity in Christ and his Church, and be healed of sinful and painful judgments and actions—just as Christ healed the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:4–42); find release from toxic patterns of thinking that take root and multiply in your life so that you can begin to hear and respond to the truth, just as the deaf man was able to hear the proclamation of the Gospel message (Mark 7:31–37); give and receive forgiveness in order to begin the process of physical healing, alleviating suffering brought on by negativity and other spiritual strongholds—just as Jesus was able to heal the man by the pool of Bethesda (John 5:1–15).     In Love Heals, Corbitt will walk with you, hand in hand, through the process of opening your heart, mind, body, and soul to the healing love of God—not because there is something wrong with you or because you need to be fixed but because healing is your rightful inheritance as a child of God. God’s love heals. God’s love resurrects. God’s love renews. God’s love transforms.

Many Christians are scared, worried and anxious about the future. They are in a spiritual fog and are baffled by the many prophecies and events of the end times and what they mean. This book will provide insight into questions such as the following:
How does the panorama of prophecies and events fit together? What are all the various viewpoints of the future? What is my place in the future? What is prophecy?Who are God's chosen people? What are the prophecies concerning Israel? Will I live again after death? Are there covenants between God and Israel?Biblical prophecy and end times - are they understandable? What does Christ say in the Olivet Discourse about the future?Where are we in the flow of God's Plan for Humankind? This book will challenge you, will help you understand Biblical prophecy and end times, and will bring you hope that the future is fully ordered and will occur in a specific sequence as described in the Bible. When Did Jesus Become God? - A...

How did early Christians come to believe that Jesus of Nazareth was the divine Son of God? This is the central question in this book. When Did Jesus Become God? is a transcribed conversation between Bart Ehrman and Michael Bird, with a helpful historiographic introduction by Robert Stewart that helps listeners understand the conclusions reached by Ehrman and Bird.

Ehrman contends that neither Jesus himself nor the apostles believed that Jesus was divine during Jesus' life; it was only after Jesus was crucified and the apostles began to have visions and revelations that they became convinced that Jesus was a godlike figure who was sent by God. Over an extended period of time, the early church solidified its belief that Jesus was God—first, with an inventive claim that Jesus was exalted to divinity, then later by seeing him as a preexistent angel become human. Bird disagrees. Based on different historiographic criteria and different readings of Scripture, he asserts that Jesus himself claimed to be the divine Son during his lifetime and that many of the apostles believed Jesus to be identified with God's own prerogatives and identity. In Bird's account of the early church, Jesus was the preexistent Son of God from the beginning, who then became human, exercised the role of Israel's Messiah, and was exalted as God the Father's vice-regent.

The kingdom of God is a profit-driven business, not simply a charitable organization or a non-profit business. Jesus presented the kingdom of God as a profitable business in all of his messages. The kingdom of God is a place to work for God, not just a place of begging God for something. God gives every believer equal opportunity to work in His kingdom. The very reason we are here on earth is to fulfil God’s mandate of expanding His kingdom on earth. However, the Kingdom of God must involve in our lives before we involve in God’s kingdom business. The kingdom of God must shape our lives before we get involved in God’s kingdom business. One qualifies to do business in the kingdom of God if personally admitted to the Kingdom of God by being born again. The book draws Biblical examples of people who effectively used their God given talents to work in the Kingdom of God and those who missed the opportunity in the kingdom of God by wasting their God given talents.

The wonder of Scripture is that everything points to Jesus Christ — especially the Names of God. Biblically, names are not merely titles we use to address someone; rather, they reveal and point to the character, nature, and attributes of the individual. When God shares one of His Names with us, it showcases who He is and declares the majesty of Christ. In this series, Nathan Johnson examines the Names of God, explains how they help us understand our God more fully, and how each Name ultimately leads us to stand in awe of the majesty of Christ. Come, and let us behold our God.
This is an Ellerslie Live Teaching Series from Nathan Johnson, recorded live in front of an audience. When you purchase this audiobook, it comes with an accompanying PDF of the message notes.
