John Barrington Cowles is a short story written by Arthur Conan Doyle first published in the Cassell's Saturday Journal on 12 & 19 april 1884.
Robert Armitage tells how his friend John Barrington Cowles died in strange circumstances. In the spring of 1879, the two students visited an exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh.
