Summary

"Victims and Executioners" sketches the tale of two generations that witnessed the inexorable change of Italy and the World.
Starting from the end of World War II and the Resistance movement, the Borgonovo family participates in the post-war reconstruction, the economic boom, and the turbulent and wonderful events of the 1960s, until their conclusion in the following decade, increasingly sharpening the clash between the different generations and the different social parties.
An unspeakable secret will mark the development of their affairs, going on to profoundly alter their existences.
It will be up to the next generation to take provisional stock, having brought to the surface a part of the past truths.

In When Faith Meets Fire: Blood Ties & Broken Vows, Zula Tlholoe delivers a stirring tale of love, duty, and rebellion set in the deeply traditional village of Naledi. Amina, a young woman born into a world governed by sacred customs and ancestral expectations, finds herself at a crossroad between obedience and self-liberation. Betrothed to Kwame—a man chosen by her family and revered by her community—Amina is expected to carry the torch of tradition without question.
But her heart belongs to Malik, a quiet rebel with no lineage or wealth, yet full of vision and love that sets her soul ablaze. Their forbidden connection sparks a quiet storm that challenges the very foundations of what it means to honor family, faith, and self.
As lobola negotiations begin and wedding preparations tighten like a noose, Amina must decide if her voice, her love, and her future are worth the price of exile. With every chapter, readers are drawn deeper into a richly woven narrative of generational pressure, silent rebellions, and the cost of choosing oneself.
Blending lyrical storytelling with cultural nuance, When Faith Meets Fire is a powerful family saga that asks: What do we owe to tradition, and what do we owe to ourselves?

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice.
The story TREE-The Sixth Element has evolved and is inspired by many historical facts. I believe that this story acknowledges the bond between man and nature. My intention in writing this book is to raise awareness about the Five Elements (The Panchabhootas) among the new generation. In ancient times, people worshipped the Panchabhootas; Earth, Air, Water, Fire, and the Sky for their protection and satisfaction.
More than 3,000 years ago, people believed in Sanatana Dharma and they were worshipping Panchabhootas.
Just as humans can develop habits through continuous exposure, plants too can exhibit habituation and become conditioned or ‘addicted’ to certain stimuli over time.
This is a literary work and a peek into the historical nexus that beautifully portrays human experiences through different eras.
With profound gratitude, I dedicate TREE-The Sixth Element to the readers.

Helen is a young Yazidi woman, living with her family in a mountain village in Sinjar, northern Iraq. One day she finds a local bird caught in a trap and frees it, just as the trapper, Elias, returns. At first angry, he soon sees the error of his ways and vows never to keep a bird captive again. Helen and Elias fall deeply in love, marry and start a family in Sinjar. The village has seemed to stand apart from time, protected by the mountains and too small to attract much political notice. But their happy existence is suddenly shattered when Elias, a journalist, goes missing. A brutal organization is sweeping over the land, infiltrating even the remotest corners, its members cloaking their violence in religious devotion. Helen’s search for her husband results in her own captivity and enslavement. She eventually escapes her captors and is reunited with some of her family, but her life is forever changed. Elias remains missing and her sons, now young recruits to the organization, are like strangers. Will she find harmony and happiness again? For fans of Elif Shafak, Samar Yazbek's Planet of Clay, and Ahmed Saadawi's Frankenstein in Baghdad, Dunya Mikhail's The Bird Tattoo chronicles a story full of great upheaval, love and loss, and beauty and horror that was shortlisted for the International Prize for Arabic Fiction.

Throughout the long centuries of human history is the want, and the need, to share information, to exchange ideas and for that knowledge and experience, for curiosity and learning, to be the basis of a civil society.
In literature the ambition is much narrower. In order to be known, to be popular, you had to be published. And for that people had to know you existed and your ideas worth reading. Obviously for most of humanity’s time people couldn’t read and texts couldn’t be published in any great number.
In the 15th Century Gutenberg’s printing press began the revolution to address the second and by the 19th century had gathered pace with startling speed and mass distribution. Education for the many was brought in to help people understand more of their world and, with new skills, how to have a better place within it. Now, if the powers that owned the presses and means of distribution agreed an audience would now be able to avail themselves of your ideas, your printed words.
Sadly, in the thirst for the new, the recent and the past fell from sight, relegated to dark corners and dusty shelves.
But the printed word is rarely without someone, somewhere busying themselves through piles of papers and books rediscovering what a good story is, whatever its age.
In this volume we offer up a small selection of those talents whose time has now come again.
