Sinopsis

For one to rule, the other must die.

AD 312:  A year of horrific and brutal warfare.

Although outnumbered, Constantine's legions seem unstoppable as they surge through Maxentius' Italian heartlands. Constantine is determined to reach and seize the ancient capital of Rome from his rival, yet his army is exhausted, plagued by religious rivalries and on the verge of revolt. Maxentius meanwhile contends with a restive and dissenting Roman populace. Neither general can risk a prolonged war.

When the two forces clash amidst portents and omens in a battle that will shape history, there are factors at work beyond their control. Only one thing is certain: Constantine and Maxentius' rivalry must end. With one on a bloodied sword and the other the sole ruler of an Empire...

This anthology from the acclaimed comic strip delves into the weirdness of America as it enters the twenty-first century, dot com, Dubya, and all.

Even challenging George “Dubya” Bush to a “pronunciation bee” can't save Uncle Duke's weird horse race for the White House. In the end, the former Ambassador passes out in a snowbank while the Cheney Administration kicks into high gear. Predictablistically, the new presidential syntax isn't the only thing that's tortured and strange.

An extensively illustrated reference covering four tumultuous decades that gave birth to the modern Royal Navy.  Winner of the Samuel Pepys Prize and Latham Medal   This reference book describes every aspect of the English navy in the second half of the seventeenth century, from the time when the Fleet Royal was taken into Parliamentary control after the defeat of Charles I, until the accession of William and Mary in 1689 when the long period of war with the Dutch came to an end. This is a crucial era that witnessed the creation of a permanent naval service, in essence the birth of today’s Royal Navy.   Samuel Pepys, whose thirty years of service did so much to replace the ad hoc processes of the past with systems for construction and administration, is one of the most significant players, and the navy that was, by 1690, ready for a century of global struggle with the French owed much to his tireless work. This major reference for historians, naval enthusiasts, and, anyone with an interest in this colorful era of the seventeenth century covers:    naval administration ship types and shipbuilding naval recruitment and crews seamanship and gunnery shipboard life dockyards and bases the foreign navies of the period the three major wars fought against the Dutch in the Channel and the North Sea “Davies writes clearly, knows his subject extremely well, organizes the material effectively, and covers each topic thoroughly . . . there’s some new piece of revelatory detail on pretty much every page. If you’re at all interested in seventeenth century sailing ships—especially English ships—this is a truly fascinating and rewarding book.” —Corsairs and Captives

Painter, designer, creator of bizarre objects, author and film maker, Dalí became the most famous of the Surrealists. Buñuel, Lorca, Picasso and Breton all had a great influence on his career. Dalí's film, An Andalusian Dog, produced with Buñuel, marked his official entry into the tightly-knit group of Parisian Surrealists, where he met Gala, the woman who became his lifelong companion and his source of inspiration. But his relationship soon deteriorated until his final rift with André Breton in 1939. Nevertheless Dalí's art remained surrealist in its philosophy and expression and a prime example of his freshness, humour and exploration of the subconscious mind. Throughout his life, Dalí was a genius at self-promotion, creating and maintaining his reputation as a mythical figure.
