Summary

The drums of war are distant whispers on the wind. 
Young Dinen, and his father Edric, live the quiet life of hunters in the remote village of Jern. 
On a black night, Jern is attacked by Varkorian soldiers, and Edric is gravely wounded. He tells Dinen to flee, and to deliver a message to Jasmine in the palace of the city of Anrial: ‘I have failed...’ 
Enlisting the help of his best friend, Tanus, the two soon find themselves rescued by a small group of men. Together, with the village healer, Jena, they set out for Anrial. 
Pursued by enemy soldiers and waylaid by bandits, can they reach Anrial to deliver Edric’s message? Can they discover why they are being hunted? And might Edric yet survive? 
The whispers of the hunt grow louder...
