Hadley is pretty much the model student: straight As, perfect attendance, front row in class. So what if she's overstressed and overscheduled: She's got school covered. (Life—not so much.)
Ms. Pitt is the kind of teacher who wants you to call her by her first name and puts all the chairs in a circle and tells her students to feel their book reports.
Hadley wishes Ms. Pitt would stick to her lesson plan. Ms. Pitt wishes Hadley would lighten up.
So when Hadley and Ms. Pitt find themselves switched into each other's bodies, the first thing they want to do is switch right back. It takes a family crisis, a baffled principal, and a (double) first kiss to help them figure out that change can be pretty enlightening.
Even if it is a little freaky!

Miracle - A Journey Through Time...

Miracle by Ray Cummings - A summons from yesterday, a promise from tomorrow–they had commanded Alan Dane to tear apart the pages of history–to save his unborn son!
"But how can you possibly know that time traveling has never been done?" the chemist protested. "Someone from our future may have gone into the past many times."
"I should think they'd have created quite a commotion," the lawyer observed. "Wouldn't we have heard of it from our historical records?"
"Of course." The chemist was smiling now. "We probably have. History tells of many important occasions on which a 'vision' appeared. A miraculous presence, such as Joan of Arc, for instance, or the Angel of Mons."
"Or the appearance of the Sun God to the Aztecs. I get your point," one of the other men interjected. "You think that there might have been a time traveler who materialized just long enough to take a look—and the superstitious natives took him for a god. Why not? That's probably just what would happen."
Young Alan Dane sat in a corner of his grandfather's laboratory, listening to the argument of the group of men. He was well over six feet in height, a sun-bronzed, crisply blond young Viking. Beside him sat Ruth Vincent, his fiancée, a slim girl of twenty. Alan's heart was pounding. Somehow it seemed as though this bantering talk of time traveling were something momentous to him, something requiring a great and irrevocable decision.
Then abruptly old Professor Dane held up his hand and, quite casually, said, "What you do not know, gentlemen, is that for half my life I have been working to discover the secret of time travel."
His audience was suddenly tense. Professor Dane was loved and respected by each of them, and his word in his chosen field of physics was final. If he said a thing could be done there was no mistake.

Asteroid of the Damned by Frederik Pohl - Somewhere on that asteroid of sin lurked the crime king of the Universe.
"Sorry, son," MacCauley said with the barrel-scrapings of his patience. "I said no and I meant it. I haven't got anything to give you. Now please stop waggling at me and go."
The excited glitter of the Palladian's luminiferous eyes died dispiritedly. MacCauley turned his back on the slight-bodied asterite and rapped his thumbnail against his drained glass. The bartender, a heavy and humorous man, expertly refilled Mac's glass with oily, musky, milk-white synthetic liquor and said: "This Kiddie bothering you? Scat, you, or I'll see that you never get into this place again."
Mac shrugged as he watched the stripling strain to catch the bartender's meaning by reading his lips, then mournfully disappear. "No more than they all do," he answered. "What's the matter with them, anyhow? They're positively nutty on the subject of money."
The bartender shook his head and snatched a quick drag on a smoldering cigar-stub. Replacing it on a ledge, he said: "Not money so much. You couldn't bribe a Kiddie with a certified check for a couple of billion dollars. They're not bright, exactly; they don't regard paper as worth anything. It's metal they want. If it happens to be precious, that's all right, but any kind of metal will do. What they're really crazy about, of course, is silver and copper. They'll do just about anything for it, including murder and treason."
Mac, listening too intently, gulped a bit more of his drink than even his spaceman's gullet could take. When the red-hot lava stopped strangling him and he could see once more through the streaming fountains that had been his eyes, he managed to choke out: "What do they want it for? Do they eat it?"

In Shivers, the final turning of The Tourniquet series, the crisis deepens—not of war or politics, but of meaning. The Sleeper has spread: a quiet forgetting, a disconnection from soul, from story, from the sacred rhythm that once bound lives together. People move from one task to the next, generous in action but hollow within. The common thread is fraying.
Velora, once obsessed with purging memory and controlling narrative, begins to unravel. Her transformation is slow, marked by silence and subtle recognition. She shifts from deletion to devotion, learning to archive not for clarity, but for compassion. Father Labby, long a keeper of ritual, faces his own reckoning—will he cling to structure, or surrender to the spiral?
At the heart of it all is Maria, whose presence is not loud but luminous. Her stories, her gestures, her dance in the Spirala Pașilor Smeriți become a living transmission. She doesn’t speak truth. She becomes it.
This final volume is a pilgrimage through fragmentation and resonance, a choreography of souls seeking to rethread what was lost. It is not a conclusion, but a convergence where the spiral tightens, the Sleeper stirs, and the thread is finally seen not as metaphor, but as memory made sacred.
