Sinopse

"The book dares to weave boardroom prep, power struggles, and corporate chaos into poetry — In a world where contracts are inked with ambition and broken with a whisper, where balance sheets hide more than they reveal, and where the corner office is both a throne and a battlefield, this collection of poems gives voice to the silent struggles behind the suits.Through sharp verses and bold reflections, this book explores the human cost of ambition, the power of poetry, and the rhythm of ethical dilemmas that define corporate life. Whether you’ve been a witness, a participant, or a casualty of the corporate game, these poems will surely resonate with you."

Anacreon (582 BCE–485 BCE) was a Greek lyric poet born in Teos, an Ionian city on the coast of Asia Minor. He likely moved to Thrace in 545 BCE with others from his city when it was attacked by Persians. He then moved to Samos, to Athens, and possibly again to Thessaly, seeking a safe place to write his poems as his patrons (including Polycrates, tyrant of Samos, and Hipparchus, brother of Athenian tyrant Hippias) kept being murdered. It is unknown where Anacreon died, though he lived to the unusually advanced age of 85.
Few of Anacreon's works survive, but those that do focus on wine, love (homosexual and heterosexual), and the overall pleasures of the legendary Roman symposium. Anacreon used various techniques in his writings, including self-deprecation and irony. The collection of miscellaneous Greek poems from the Hellenistic Age and beyond known as the Anacreontea was "mistakenly labeled" with Anacreon's name. Despite later appreciation for Anacreon's true poems, his works were not appreciated during his lifetime.
This work is a collection of the Odes of Anacreon, translated into English by Thomas Moore.

The language of Poetry is an art that most of us attempt at some point in our lives. Although its commonplace exposure has been somewhat marginalised in today’s often fast-paced lives we all recognise good verse that can empathise with our thoughts or open us up to experience new things in new ways, to better understand and to enjoy the many strands of our lives.
But finding a starting point can be overwhelming, even off-putting, so in this series we offer up our Top 10 classic poets, who brim with talent and verse, on a range of subjects and themes that we can all enjoy.
In this volume we collect together poets who, by the difference in the colour of their skin, were treated with such disdain and racism that it is difficult to believe that poetry of such tenderness, beauty and authority could exist.

In a complex web of relationships, Adam, a charismatic and independent man haunted by childhood insecurities, believes that he finds solace and strength in his quest to save the Guatemalan rainforest. Unbeknownst to him, his attraction and growing friendship with Josh, a hardworking yet insecure man longing for excitement and love, stems from those same childhood insecurities. Through their adventures, Adam and Josh slowly, find their strengths from within rather than from without. Josh's friendship with Em, his quirky, yet devoted friend and assistant secretly in love with him, offers a glimpse of unconditional care, while Tess, the radiant and flamboyant drag-queen guide, assumes a sage-like role, instilling confidence in their journeys. Meanwhile, Vi, the cunning CEO of DEJ, Inc., becomes entangled in a manipulative game with Lucas, a man relentlessly pursuing her. Amidst it all, Almi, the noble chief of a Guatemalan tribe, collaborates with "Save La Selva" (A charity focused on saving the Guatemalan rainforest and spirited by Adam), provides a bridge between worlds and reinforcing the importance of their cause. Through these intricate relationships, the characters embark on a path of self-discovery, ultimately finding the strength to confront their insecurities and embrace their true selves. Through it all, the epic and yet intimate songs (inspired by the fabulous 1980s) and musical score provide a soaring ride through the plot.
