Sinopsis

Space Radio Signals explores the vital role of radio technology in space exploration, detailing how we communicate with spacecraft across vast distances. It delves into the intricacies of deep-space communication, highlighting the reliance on radio signals for navigation, data acquisition, and mission control. The book emphasizes that without robust radio communication, advancements in space science would be impossible.

The book presents the history and scientific principles behind radio wave transmission and reception, including modulation techniques and antenna design. It uses real-world examples from NASA missions like Voyager and the James Webb Space Telescope to illustrate these concepts. A unique focus is placed on the engineering trade-offs required to balance data rates, power consumption, and signal reliability in the harsh space environment, crucial for successful deep-space missions.

Beginning with basic concepts, the book progresses to discuss the Deep Space Network (DSN) and future trends such as laser communication. It connects radio communication with fields like astrophysics and electrical engineering, underscoring its interdisciplinary nature. Through clear explanations and illustrative examples, Space Radio Signals makes complex topics accessible, providing valuable insights for students, space enthusiasts, and anyone curious about the technology behind our journey to the stars.

This book consists of two titles, which are the following:
Stellar Evolution - Stellar evolution refers to the process by which a star changes over the course of time. This field of astrophysics studies the formation, life, and death of stars, which involves a series of complex physical processes and transformations. Here, we outline the key stages and concepts in stellar evolution.
Supernovae - Supernovae are incredibly powerful explosions that occur at the end of a star's life cycle, during which the star undergoes a dramatic increase in brightness, often outshining an entire galaxy for a brief period. They can occur through various mechanisms, such as the collapse of massive stars or the thermonuclear explosions of white dwarfs in binary systems. Supernovae play a crucial role in the evolution of galaxies, as they distribute heavy elements and trigger the formation of new stars and planetary systems.

What is a meteor or meteorite? A meteor is a small body of matter apparently from outer space that upon entering the Earth’s atmosphere resembles a streak of light, what we normally call falling stars. A meteorite is one of these that successfully hits the ground and sometimes other things, including people, buildings and animals!
Until 1803 most scientists regarded falls of meteorites as absurd and fantastical. As well as impossible. This was until the massive fall onto L’Aigle in France of thousands of meteorites on April 23rd 1803. Previously on November 11th 1799 there had also been a massive meteor shower comprising thousands of meteors that was seen all over the Earth. This is now known to be the Leonid meteors whose falls have diminished since. The Leonids come around every November, usually near the beginning of the month. Funny how this is a peak period for UFO sightings! That was accepted meteorites. Then you have such things as Black Comets. Black comets are extinct cometary nuclei which no longer create outgassing. No tail is visible. They are black and difficult to see in space unless they are passing celestial bodies. Even these seem apparently normal when you look at everything that has come crashing down, sometimes heavily and sometimes lightly, from the skies. Amongst the true meteorites and possible fragment of black comets, and possibly even antimatter, and even large blocks of ice, what then are the rest of these? That the majority of UFO sightings might actually be misidentified meteoric or cometary bodies. The list of incidents from the sky including numerous near misses. Are they meteors, comets or UFOs or a combination or misinterpretation of all of the above?

In 2018, I suffered a massive cerebral stroke at the age of 24 after cracking my neck. I woke up in a hospital with little knowledge of myself, the world, or any grounding in reality because of the damage to my brain along with left-sided paralysis. I am not the person I was before and though I want to be them again I can't and must bury them, grieve, and start over. This is how I came to terms with my new existence while letting go of my past, not because I want to but because it is a requirement to move forward.

From Outer Space to Inner Space...

    Dr. Edgar Mitchell

The sixth man who walked on the moon shares his journey to the stars, into the mind, and beyond.
In February 1971, as Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell hurtled Earthward through space, he was engulfed by a profound sense of universal connectedness. He intuitively sensed that his presence and that of the planet in the window were all part of a deliberate, universal process, and that the glittering cosmos itself was, in some way, conscious. The experience was so overwhelming, Mitchell knew his life would never be the same.
For the next thirty-five years, he embarked on another journey, an inward exploration of the ineffable mystery of human consciousness and being. Mitchell left NASA to form the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS). There he initiated research in areas of study previously neglected by mainstream science and constructed a theory that could explain not only the mysteries of consciousness, but also the psychic event—what spiritualists call a “miracle” and scientists dismiss altogether.
Mitchell also created a new dyadic model of reality, revealing a self-aware universe not predetermined by the laws of physics, preordained by deities, or infinitely malleable. While human actions are generally subject to the laws of physics, these laws are also influenced by the mind.
From Outer Space to Inner Space traces two remarkable journeys—one through space and one through the mind. Together they fundamentally alter the way we understand the miracle and mystery of being, and ultimately reveal humankind’s role in its own destiny.
Previously published as The Way of the Explorer, this edition includes a new foreword by Avi Loeb, an afterword by Dean Radin, and a postscript chapter by the author.
