~~~~~ PG Excerpt ~~~~~
Edgar sits on the chair in the living room, looking out the window at the hot summer day. His shirt clings to his chest, outlining his hard pectoral muscles. The other thing that's outlined is the thick rod in his pants—theone that doesn't seem to want to go down. This heat will definitely do that, but what also does it is having his 18-year old daughter Katelyn at home all day, walking around and shaking that hot bottom of hers.
Katelyn sits, staring at her History textbook, pretending to read.
Edgar gets up and heads into the kitchen, intent on getting himself some water. But as he does he hears a squeaking coming from underneath the chair in the living room.
"What was that?" Katelyn's voice comes, and she gets up from where she's sitting, looking around at the ground.
"I think it came from under the chair," Edgar says to his daughter. "Come on, help me move it."
"No way," Katelyn says. "If that's a mouse I'm not getting near that thing."
"Come on, stop being a wimp," Edgar says, and Katelyn looks shocked for a moment, but then gives him a challenging look.
"I'm not a wimp!" she says, and she gives her daddy a playful shove. He counters by grabbing her arms, and soon the two of them are horsing around, laughing and squealing as they grapple back and forth.
Inside Katelyn's body she feels completely flushed. She's horsed around with her daddy before, but this time it feels different. In fact, ever since she turned 18 things have felt different. Her virgin core, for instance, is glowing with a deep warmth that usually only comes whenever she's thinking sexy thoughts.
Soon enough they slow down and both Edgar and Katelyn are laughing. They catch their breath and look at each other. For Katelyn that feeling inside of her hasn't gone away. And the way her daddy is looking at her makes her think he's feeling it too.
    A rich portrait of the beauty of words – painted by a 15th-century illiterate scribe.
    A 15th-century portrait painter, grieving the sudden death of his lover, takes refuge at the monastery at Mont Saint-Michel, an island off the coast of France. He haunts the halls until a monk assigns him the task of copying a manuscript – though he is illiterate. His work slowly heals him and continues the tradition that had, centuries earlier, grown the monastery’s library into a beautiful city of books, all under the shadow of the invention of the printing press.
    ‘Dominique Fortier has a gift for making insightful connections between seemingly distant ideas, creating patterns that, at the end of the novel, leave you with the impression that everything is connected, both logically and supernaturally.
    Set in an improbable fortress in the middle of the sea, her fourth novel explores the to and fro of love and creation. With writing that is both graceful and honed, The Island of Books gives love, maternity and particularly books the mystery that is their due.’—Jean-Marc ValleÌ*e
    ‘Throughout these emotional rescues in the high seas, Dominique Fortier’s writing is carried on a rich, beautiful and evocative language. The recurrent use of words from old French adds a patina that is appropriate for this journey filled with touching, illuminating moments … Dominique Fortier plunges into the depths of human paradox and emerges with a love of books that she shares with grace and generosity.’
    ‘Dominique Fortier’s writing is at once sensitive and interesting, moving and spare. It reveals a man blinded by pain who tells us his story of love, his distress and the light of the smile of a young woman. A book written in quiet emotionthat makes for good reading as the wind makes the autumn leaves rustle.’
    A finales del siglo XIX Inglaterra experimenta la época dorada de la bicicleta; más accesible y segura, deja de ser un medio de transporte y ocio restringido a burgueses y se convierte en una "máquina de libertad" para bolsillos menos pudientes. Las mujeres, en su mayoría confinadas al hogar, tampoco dejarán pasar esta oportunidad.
    Ruedas de Fortuna es una novela que explora los cambios sociales que provoca la irrupción de la bicicleta en una rígida sociedad victoriana a través de Hoopdriver, dependiente en un comercio de telas de Londres quien, sin apenas saber manejar una bicicleta, decide realizar un viaje por el sur de Inglaterra. En el camino se cruzará con una joven ciclista de ideas avanzadas que le hará cambiar de planes. Una aventura narrada con humor altamente británico por un Wells que conoció de primera mano esos caminos.
    "Robinson Crusoe" is one of the earliest novels in the English language, written by Daniel Defoe and first published in 1719. It tells the story of a young man named Robinson Crusoe who desires to go to sea, against the wishes of his family. After several voyages and misadventures, he finds himself shipwrecked on a deserted island. With only a few salvaged items from the ship, Crusoe learns to create a life for himself, building shelter, hunting, and planting crops. He remains on the island for 28 years, experiencing encounters with cannibals, mutineers, and even befriending a man whom he names Friday. The novel delves deep into themes of survival, civilization versus nature, and the human drive for mastery and control.
    This is perhaps the most famous Horror novel by perhaps the most famous - certainly, most famous American - Horror author of the early Twentieth Century. With the introduction of the monstrous Cthulhu it towers over the genre.
    This reading has been produced by Alexander Leithes with the aid of his thespian friend, Pincent Vrice, doing his utmost to capture the spirit of his near namesake.
