Sinopse

The emergence of the Mongol Empire in the 13th century was the turning point of human history. The dramatic change in the human world after this turning point was a positive one, especially for the Europeans. This is my belief. Before the Mongol Empire, there was no communication between the east and the west. At that time, the world was wide. Many different forms of natural barriers—rivers, mountains, deserts, impenetrable dense forests and enormously wide plains—were between them, and they didn’t have any reason to cross over all of them. Communication and the exchange of ideas could now be possible after the emergence of the Mongol Empire. Gun powder, paper and compasses were introduced from the east to the west, and the concept of chemistry, astronomy and mathematics was transferred from the west to the east. Before the Mongol Empire, it was very dangerous or almost impossible to travel from the city of Venice in Italy to Beijing, China, which was a trip that Marco Polo’s father Piccolo and his uncle Maffeo frequently made. After more than 20 years of staying in China, Marco Polo, who travelled to Beijing with his father and stayed there under the protection of Kublai Khan, finally returned to his home in Italy and began his storytelling, which influenced all of Europe.Marco Polo’s well-known book, The Travels of Marco Polo, inspired many young men in Europe at that time to go to the east to find the riches and gold that Marco Polo described. Marco Polo’s story influenced Europe inwardly and outwardly. Inwardly, it ignited the new Renaissance wave; outwardly, it motivated many men who were seeking adventure and fortune. At age 14, Christopher Columbus was one of the young men who was inspired by Marco Polo’s story. His introduction of the existence of a new continent to the Europeans was a great event as everyone knows. All these were chain reactions related to Marco Polo and the Mongol Empire.Batu Khan was the front-runner by breaking the wall between the east and the west, yet his story has not been told often to the public, which motivated me to write about it. All these stories were written based on the most trusted histories. When different theories related to the same event conflicted, I picked the most probable one based on my common sense. The only fictionalized areas in this book were episodes written for the purpose of connecting stories and making the reading smoother.

Title: The Picture in the House
    Author: H. P. Lovecraft
    Narrator: Jonathan Dunne
    Original Publication: 1921
    Public Domain: Yes
    Series Placement: Timeless Terrors #58
    Description:
The Picture in the House is a masterclass in creeping dread — a tense, claustrophobic story where isolation and obsession blur the line between horror and fascination.
The tale begins with a traveler seeking shelter from a storm in an ancient, decaying New England farmhouse. Inside, he encounters a gaunt, ancient man whose fascination with a grotesque, centuries-old illustration depicting cannibalism quickly becomes unsettling. Every creak, flicker of candlelight, and shadow heightens the traveler’s growing unease as he realizes the horror he has stumbled upon may be closer than he ever imagined.
Lovecraft’s story relies on atmosphere, suspense, and human curiosity rather than gore or spectacle. The terror is subtle, intimate, and lingering.
Narrated by Amazon-bestselling horror author Jonathan Dunne, this performance brings Lovecraft’s chilling tale of dread and lurking menace vividly to life. While the text is firmly in the public domain, this narration is an original performance and copyright © 2025 Jonathan Dunne.
Part of Timeless Terrors, a series dedicated to resurrecting the masters of the macabre, The Picture in the House reminds us that sometimes the most terrifying thing isn’t what’s on the page, but the dark intentions of the mind that studies it.

Emma by Jane Austen is a delightful and witty novel about Emma Woodhouse, a charming and independent young woman who takes pleasure in matchmaking among her friends, despite her own lack of romantic interest. Set in the idyllic English countryside, the story humorously explores themes of love, friendship, social class, and personal growth as Emma’s well-meaning meddling leads to unexpected consequences. Filled with Austen’s sharp observations on human behavior, Emma remains a timeless classic that blends romance with keen social satire.

Before she was a legend… she was running for her life.
In the shadows of a divided cult, a prophecy whispers of salvation. The White Raven—chosen by the Goddess of Death—is destined to lead her people into prosperity. But when doubt creeps into the ranks, faith turns to suspicion… and suspicion to betrayal.
Reedsong was born into that prophecy.
Daughter of the Cult of the Raven’s leader, her fate was never her own. Raised to become something she may not even be, she lives beneath the weight of expectation—and the quiet fear that she will never measure up.
When the cult begins to question whether she is truly the White Raven, the cracks begin to show. Loyalties fracture. Trust dissolves. And Reedsong realizes the truth:
If she stays… she loses herself.
    So she runs.
    From her name.
    From her past.
From the destiny chosen for her.
But freedom comes with a cost.
Hunted by the very people who raised her, Reedsong must carve out a life in hiding—one shaped by fear, survival, and the hope that she can become something more than what she was told to be.
Set long before the events of Shattered Peace, The Runaway is a gripping, character-driven fantasy that follows Reed’s journey from hunted girl to hardened survivor… and the first steps toward the legend she will become.
You don’t need to know what comes next to feel the weight of where she began.
But once you do… you won’t want to stop.
