Sinopse

Annie Morton is eight years old. A bit shorter and chubbier than the average girl her age, there are two things in life that really bug her: getting out of bed, and getting a wash. She can’t stand it! The very thought of it makes her want to pull the blankets over her head every morning and stay in bed forever.

That is, until she meets The Spooky Sponge: a snotty-coloured, raggy bit of sponge that has goggly eyes and a wrinkly mouth. But this is no ordinary sponge. This one lives. Both magical and spooky, it has powers that only Annie can control.

In this book, The Spooky Sponge meets Annie’s Mum. Payback time can be fun when you have a Spooky Sponge!

Even children experience lonely moments. When they do, this book reminds them that you will always be there, and God is right there too. Max Lucado's comforting words reinforce the thought that no matter what happens--the good and bad, the firsts and lasts--children will never be alone . . . just in case they ever wonder.

Whether they're having trouble making friends, struggling to learn something new, or just having a sad day, children need daily reminders of how much they're cherished. Just in Case You Ever Feel Alone soothes away loneliness by promising children that their parents or caregivers will always make time for them--they will squeeze away the sad and welcome back the glad every single day.

To fall in love is already a gift. But to fall in love in a place like Minidoka, a place built to make people feel like they weren’t human—that was miraculous. After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Tama is sent to live in a War Relocation Center in the desert. All Japanese Americans from the West Coast—elderly people, children, babies—now live in prison camps like Minidoka. To be who she is has become a crime, it seems, and Tama doesn’t know when or if she will ever leave. Trying not to think of the life she once had, she works in the camp’s tiny library, taking solace in pages bursting with color and light, love and fairness. And she isn’t the only one. George waits each morning by the door, his arms piled with books checked out the day before. As their friendship grows, Tama wonders: Can anyone possibly read so much? Is she the reason George comes to the library every day? Maggie Tokuda-Hall’s elegant and true love story about her grandparents for listeners of all ages sheds light on a shameful chapter of American history.

Autistic seventh-grader Maggie Weir loves spacecraft, but aerospace engineering isn’t the only thing that gives her butterflies: she’s got a secret crush on an eighth grader—the amazing, baton-twirling Tatum Jones. And they’ve just teamed up for an engineering contest! It might be the perfect chance
for Maggie to tell Tatum how she feels, except …

Tatum is focused on outshining her genius twin brother, and Maggie’s forgetfulness isn’t making a great impression. Still, there’s something about the quirky girl with a messy backpack that sets Tatum’s heart aflutter. But before they can finish designing a low-gravity cabinet, Maggie learns that her dad
    wants to move to Houston.

Now, Maggie must choose: Does she follow her dad and her dreams of NASA? Or does she stay with her mom to be near Tatum? If the stars are meant to align between these two, they’ll both have to fully realize their feelings for each other before Maggie leaves forever.

This charming companion novel features delightful cameos from the first book, The Trouble with Robots, and compassionately explores themes of divorce, neglect, and sibling rivalry alongside an age-appropriate budding romance.
