However, as industrialized nations implemented laws and regulations to protect children, the issue seemed to fade in many parts of the developed world. Unfortunately, this progress has not been mirrored in many developing nations, where children continue to be exploited for economic gain. Global estimates suggest that over 150 million children worldwide are engaged in child labor, with a significant portion working in hazardous conditions.
