Sinopse

Metamorphosis. Little has been left unchanged throughout the journey of Dill Steel-Link, Sid Faron, and Nue Kirisaki. The only constant might be Dill himself, who remains single-minded in his quest for revenge against the Reincarnators and reclaim the body of his daughter, Iris. At long last, as a reward for besting his foremost foe, he’s obtained a hint as to her whereabouts. It’s his first solid lead in five years of searching, but the war against the Reincarnators rages on. The line between Dill’s friends and foes blurs by the day. Who can he really trust? What guise will the enemy assume next? Dill and the Halberd Brigade fight valiantly for the future of the city of Vulcan and all of Redguard, but with half of the city and most of the world already subjugated by the Reincarnators, can they survive—let alone prevail?

"Ask a Foolish Question" by Robert Sheckley is a science fiction story written during the early 1950s. The narrative explores the philosophical implications of knowledge and inquiry through a central entity known as the Answerer, designed to provide answers to any question posed by the beings of the universe. The story raises intriguing questions about the nature of knowledge itself, highlighting how the formulation of a question can heavily influence the response received. In the tale, two central characters, Morran and Lingman, embark on a quest to find the Answerer, desperately seeking the ultimate truths about life and death. Meanwhile, a variety of other beings also seek answers to their own existential questions. However, when they finally confront the Answerer, they discover that their inquiries often lack the depth necessary to receive meaningful responses. The Answerer, while possessing vast knowledge, can only respond to questions that are framed correctly, exposing the limitations of the questioners' understanding. The story concludes with a poignant realization that without a foundational understanding, the questions posed will inevitably fail to reveal the profound truths they seek, emphasizing the complex relationship between knowledge, inquiry, and comprehension

What happens when God hands ultimate power to someone?

Meet Ren Lewis. Mind controller. Thought reader. Master manipulator. And quite possibly the most dangerous mistake the universe ever made.

Most kids worry about homework and bullies. Ren worried about the monster that woke up inside him the day his powers emerged. The one that whispers sweet temptations every time someone crosses him. The one that finds it so easy to make people dance like marionettes.

Power corrupts. Absolute power? It devours.

Now Ren can have anything—wealth, worship, control over world leaders with a single thought. But here's the twisted truth: getting everything you want is the fastest way to lose everything you are. Each mind he bends, each will he breaks, hollows him out a little more.

There's only one way to silence the monster. One path to redemption.

But can you kill what you've become when that monster... is you?

Some gifts are curses in disguise. Some heroes are villains waiting to happen. And some stories will make you question everything you thought you knew about power, morality, and the thin line between salvation and damnation.

Are you brave enough to walk in the shadows with Ren Lewis? Or will you become another puppet in his twisted game?

The choice is yours. If you still have one.
