Summary

This not a travelogue of places, sights and sounds, hotels to stay or routes to take, it is in many ways a spiritual quest of being guided by a stranger in Singapore to travel to Nepal to meet, unknown to me at the time, 'The Little Buddha', Ossian MacLise.

I was the iconic, itinerant hippie traveler of the sixties and early seventies, working for a year or two then traveling for a year before reaching England and working until I had enough money to go again.

My first foray into travel was the great flower power hippie overland route from Australia to England. Traveling by bus, train or plane I slowly made my way through Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Burma, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Iran and Turkey then onto England before returning to Europe and home to Australia. Life on the road is exciting, exhausting and life changing, I recommend it for everyone before they settle into the world of marriage, children and a mortgage. The problem was I never settled and always remained the itinerant traveler, always looking for the next adventure.

The Lives of the Queens of England is a multi-volumed work attributed to Agnes Strickland, though it was mostly researched and written by her sister Elisabeth. These volumes give biographies of the queens of England from the Norman Conquest in 1066. Although by today's standards, it is not seen as a very scholarly work, the Stricklands used many sources that had not been used before.Volume six includes the biography of Elizabeth I through the year 1586.(Introduction by Ann Boulais)

“It’s better to live one day as a lion than 100 years as a sheep.”
"I am the most terrible animal that's ever existed."
“We become strongest, I feel, when we have no friends upon whom to lean, or to look for moral guidance." (Mussolini)
Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini, born on July 29, 1883, who went by the nickname “Il Duce” (“the Leader”), was a deeply unbalanced tyrannical Italian dictator who created the dreaded Fascist Party in 1919. Eventually, he held all power in Italy as the country’s prime minister from 1922 to 1943. An ardent socialist as a youth, Mussolini followed in his father's political footsteps but was expelled by the party for his overt support of World War I. As an evil dictator during World War II (even murdering his own son by lethal injection) he greatly overextended his forces and was eventually killed by his own people in Mezzegra, Italy. Here, for the first time, are the words of the great dictator himself in his twisted manifesto on the political movement he started and is still so feared to this very day.Geoffrey Giuliano is the author of thirty two internationally best-selling books published by the biggest publishers in the world from 1984 until today. He is also an acclaimed Hollywood film actor, director, designer, and is the voice on over 500 popular audiobooks.

Once again internationally acclaimed, best-selling biographers Geoffrey Giuliano and Avalon Giuliano tear back the decades-old veil of myth and unquestioning hero worship surrounding the Beatles’ turbulent lives and present the frank, often heart-wrenching tale of four young men from Liverpool thrust upon the world stage and into the stratosphere of untouchable super-stardom. Utilizing a wealth of unpublished personal correspondence, never-before-heard taped conversations, obscure studio and home recordings, lost songs and the forgotten diaries the group left behind at the Maharishi’s ashram in 1968, Revolution is the last word on the Beatles' astounding life and times. For the first time, family members, friends, and colleagues speak out exclusively on the often oppressive constraints of global Beatlemania and the life-changing effect it had on the Boys.

Geoffrey Giuliano is a prominent Beatles biographer and historian who has dedicated his life to unraveling the intricate tapestry of the legendary band's history. With an impressive body of work spanning numerous books, documentaries, and interviews, Giuliano has delved deep into the lives and dynamics of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. His meticulous research and extensive interactions with those close to the Beatles have allowed him to offer unique insights into the band's formation, rise to stardom, and eventual dissolution. Despite controversy and criticism surrounding some of his claims, Giuliano's contributions to Beatles scholarship have undeniably enriched the understanding of their enduring impact on music and culture.

“An incredible true story that reads like an international crime thriller.”—Steve Jackson, New York Times bestselling authorOn June 1, 1981, two young activists, Silme Domingo and Gene Viernes, were murdered in Seattle in what was made to appear like a gang slaying. But the victims’ families and friends suspected they were considered a threat to the dictatorship of Philippines dictator Ferdinand Marcos and his regime’s relationship to the United States. In Summary Execution, attorney and author Michael Withey describes his ten-year battle for justice for Domingo and Viernes that he fought because “They killed my friends.” Follow along as he embarks on a long and dangerous investigation and into the courtroom to obtain convictions of three hitmen, and then prove in U.S. federal court that Marcos was behind the assassinations. If so, it would be the first time in U.S. history that a foreign head of state would be held liable for the murder of American citizens on U.S. soil. However, to accomplish this Withey and his legal team, working with the victims’ families and friends, would have to overcome numerous obstacles including exposing the perjured eyewitness testimony of an FBI informant, uncovering the brutal murder of an accomplice who was being sought to turn state’s evidence, and working around the failure by local authorities to prosecute the Marcos operative who planned the murders.“Remarkable . . . The story has so many twists—as well as amazing turns—that prove the point that conspiracy theories aren’t necessarily fiction.”—Eric Nalder, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist
