Sinopsis

Enter the imaginative world of the four-year-old Sapphire twins. Jackson and Jillian love pretending and love doing everything all by themselves. Tonight’s task is tooth-brushing. But when Annie the guinea pig enters the scene, there is a brush with disaster. Older sister and brother, Alicia and Mason, will help the twins achieve a milestone of independence. "Jackson and Jillian" is written for read-aloud and for early readers. An art activity, and interactive questions to promote memory recall and emotional intelligence are included. ABOUT THE THREE BOOK SERIES: I was in my classroom when a student asked, “I wonder what my sister is doing right now?” The student’s question made me think about a child’s emerging concept of time: that of being aware of life happening elsewhere, outside of the child’s own experience. Each book in the Sapphire Family Series is told from a different point of view: that of the twins, in "Jackson and Jillian," their older sister, Alicia in "Alicia and Annie," and big brother, Mason in "Mason and Invincible Igor." All three books take place during the same period of time, early evening. Although the books can stand alone, read together they offer a three-dimensional exploration of sibling interactions and family dynamics. Reading a story from different points of view is a first step in thinking beyond oneself. My intention is that the Sapphire Family Series will offer children compelling characters with whom they can identify and grow, and present positive, realistic family dynamics that will delight them.

Chance, the champion tracking beagle, reports the thefts to the barkley family, and that begins the hunt for who is stealing the items and why. As the family and the dogs search for clues, the mystery deepens when Chance reports that the thief is neither human nor canine. With lots of laughs from “Dad” jokes and plenty of homeschool humor from Mom and the kids, this adventure is great for the entire family.

We may know a few Bible stories, or maybe we've studied the Bible for years. But do we know what's it really all about, and how all the different pieces fit together?
Renowned Bible scholar Craig Bartholomew and Bible teacher Paige Vanosky present the story of Scripture in thirty short readings, each designed to take about half an hour. Together these chapters condense the biblical story into one easily understood story, the story of our world. This story begins with creation and ends with the wrapping up of history as it follows one branch of a family tree from Adam and Eve to Jesus, and beyond. It's "the greatest story in the world," one surely to provide impact and meaning to your life.
"Whether you are new to the Bible or looking for a fresh engagement with it, The 30-Minute Bible is a version I highly recommend." Bishop Todd Hunter
"The authors have given us solid biblical knowledge from a broadly ecumenical point of view that teachers from any Christian tradition can use with confidence." Rev. Jack Baca

Twelve-year-old Elwood McGee never asked to have “ghost-sight,” and it involves a lot more drool-dodging than he expected. Ghosts are the WORST—and they're all over the place in this sharp-witted middle grade debut novel.
Did you know that ghosts love coffee? They’re not trying to be scary. They’re just deprived of an appropriate amount of caffeine! They also bump into things by accident, are occasionally nosy, and get a little nervous when they’re seen by the living.
Elwood McGee knows these ghost facts because he’s one of those rare people with the gift of ghost-sight. And it turns out ghosts are everywhere! Especially in the small Tennessee town where Elwood and his family had to move following the death of his big brother Noah, which Elwood thinks was his fault.
Once Elwood figures out he can see ghosts, he becomes single-mindedly determined to use his powers to see Noah and talk to him one last time. With the help of two girls who live on his street, Elwood embarks on a journey through the surprisingly funny world of ghosts and faces the realities of letting go.
At once hilarious and heart-wrenching, Adam Rosenbaum makes his middle grade debut with a supernaturalish novel about grief that’s perfect for fans of Gordon Korman and Dan Gutman.
