Sinopse

Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson is a dark and enduring masterpiece that delves into the hidden depths of human nature. Set in the fog-shrouded streets of Victorian London, this classic novella blends gothic horror, psychological suspense, and moral inquiry into a gripping and unforgettable tale.

Dr. Henry Jekyll is a brilliant and respected scientist troubled by the conflict between his public virtue and private desires. In an attempt to master this inner struggle, he devises a radical experiment meant to separate the good and evil elements of his personality. The result is the creation of Edward Hyde—a figure of pure malevolence, unrestrained by conscience or social law.

As Hyde's violent acts grow increasingly bold and horrifying, Jekyll's control begins to unravel. What starts as a scientific triumph soon becomes a terrifying descent into obsession, secrecy, and loss of identity. The mystery unfolds through unsettling revelations, mounting dread, and a chilling examination of repression and moral duality.

More than a tale of horror, Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is a profound exploration of the divided self and the dangers of denying one's true nature. Stevenson's sharp prose and haunting imagery expose the fragile boundary between civilization and savagery, making this work as relevant today as it was at the time of its publication.

A cornerstone of gothic literature, this novella remains a powerful reflection on good and evil—and the monsters that dwell within us all.

"The Crawling Chaos" is a short story by American writers H. P. Lovecraft and Winifred V. Jackson, first published April 1921 in the United Cooperative. As in their other collaboration, "The Green Meadow", the tale was credited to "Elizabeth Berkeley" (Jackson) and "Lewis Theobald, Jun" (Lovecraft). Lovecraft wrote the entire text, but Jackson is also credited since the story was based on a dream she experienced.
The story begins with the narrator describing the effects of opium and the fantastical vistas it can inspire. The narrator then tells of his sole experience with opium in which he was accidentally administered an overdose by a doctor during the "year of the plague".
After a disembodied sensation of falling, the narrator finds himself within a strange beautiful room containing exotic furniture, where a pounding sound from outside inspires an inexplicable sense of dread within the narrator. Determined to identify the origin of this sound, the narrator moves towards a window and observes a terrifying scene of fifty-foot waves and seething vortex consuming the shoreline at an incredible rate...

During a canoe trip on the Danube, two men are forced to stop on an island due to the current. What was supposed to be a peaceful temporary camping experience turns into a disturbing and supernatural ordeal: the willows covering the island seem to move and whisper in the wind, giving the impression of being alive; the presence of hostile and terrifying invisible entities is perceived, casting doubt on every capacity for rational thought. The narrative force, the voices, the evocative power of the music and sounds effects create a growing tension in the listener, who – as it happens to the two protagonists – will find themselves involved in a battle between the real and the surreal.Classic horror tales, reinterpreted in a modern key and narrated with music and sound effects.
