Sinopsis

When you first start playing backgammon it would be an advantage to have a book nearby which covered all of the basics and more to advance your game as quickly as possible.

The book would also offer solid advice, and demonstrate techniques that would develop an early awareness of the tactics and strategies behind every strong player.

It would be helpful if there were plenty of positions shown that were analysed, and explanations given of just what was going on in the minds of the players.

It would be useful to offer many positions that could be scored, to help assess the reader's  strengths and weaknesses and to help develop an understanding of what makes a good move and why.

The reader would end up with a set of straightforward tools and ideas to carry into every game with a growing sense of knowing what they were doing.

A happy plant makes for a happy home and a happy life; find the right plant for each room.

Indoor plants have never been so important as we realise the power of their presence in making us feel calmer and more connected to nature. But dying plants around the house are negatives you could do without!
This unique guide from an indoor plant expert explains what plants you should keep in each room, and whereabouts. It contains:
    • Easy-to-understand but horticulturally accurate information on what affects plants in each room – light, humidity and temperature.
    • What typically makes each room different, which plants best suit which room, and how to care for them so that you and the plant are happy.
    • Working with individual microclimates within that room – for example, a plant that might work on a coffee table in the middle of a room might not work on a bookshelf next to a window.
    • Invaluable information on how to arrange the plants to make stunning arrangements for your home interior.
The first half of the book focuses on the five key rooms in any home, with ideas for the reader who wants to green up specific rooms, while the second half is a comprehensive directory of house plants. Each entry has information on light level requirements and tolerance, detailed information on care and colour inspiration for styling the plant. Each plant is also rated by difficulty.
This is the most practical guide to building an indoor garden, room by room, to ensure happy plants, a happy home and happy humans.

In the grand tapestry of human history, few movements have been as impactful as the Indian diaspora spreading across the globe over the last 150 years. Today, with over thirty million individuals of Indian origin residing beyond their ancestral land, the phenomenon presents a fascinating study of cultural and historical interweaving, particularly highlighted by the nearly one million diaspora members in Australia
This book offers a panoramic yet nuanced view of the India-Australia dynamics, traversing a wide spectrum of periods and themes- from ancient bonds and historical ties to colonial encounters and contemporary affairs-making this an indispensable handbook for the Indian diaspora in Australia, students, historians and all others interested, and opens up a zillion topics for research. From the geopolitical connections dating back to the Gondwanaland era to the modern-day symbolisms of the Swastika, the narrative weaves together a rich and complex history of diaspora movements, sugar trade, and beyond. The historical depth of the Indian diaspora in Australia, rooted as deeply as the inception of Australia itself in the late 18th century, is brought to the fore with meticulous scholarship. The author, leveraging his extensive experience and scholarly acumen, stitches together disparate fragments of information into a coherent and captivating narrative, underpinned by reliable sources.

If it seems like everyone you know is playing Dungeons & Dragons, it's because they are! After nearly five decades, the iconic roleplaying game is more popular than ever. Famous Hollywood actors and directors, therapists, educators, politicians, kids, parents, and grandparents all count themselves as fans. In Welcome to Dragon Talk, hosts of the official D&D podcast Shelly Mazzanoble and Greg Tito and their surprising guests show how this beloved pastime has amassed a diverse, tight-knit following of players who defy stereotypes.

Shelly and Greg recount some of their most inspiring interviews and illuminate how their guests use the core tenets of the game in everyday life. An A-list actor defends D&D by baring his soul (and his muscles) on social media. A teacher in a disadvantaged district in Houston creates a D&D club that motivates students to want to read and think analytically. A writer and live-streamer demonstrates how D&D–inspired communication breaks barriers and empowers people of color. Listeners will see why Dungeons & Dragons has remained such a pop culture phenomenon and how it has given this disparate and growing community the inspiration to flourish and spread some in-game magic into the real world.

“Mbona is a Zulu word meaning ‘I see’.
Mbona Private Nature Reserve is a glorious slice of paradise nestled in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands, South Africa, which I have the privilege to call home.
These stories, which were gathered over many years of living on Mbona, were originally intended to be a podcast, but then I decided to compile them into this audiobook.
Herein I share moments, experiences, events, and memories. I’m sure those who know Mbona will relate to much that is shared here, but whether you know Mbona or not, I do hope that you will be inspired to adventure and make your own treasured memories.
    Happy listening, happy memory making.”
