Who hasn't, at one time or another, considered killing a billionaire? From acclaimed writer Jacob Wren comes a spiralling, fast-paced parable of joyous, overly self-aware, mischievous class warfare.
In this literary page-turner, a classically-trained pianist who has fallen on hard times and now washes dishes to make ends meet, decides to kill a billionaire as a political act. As his plan proceeds and becomes more feasible, the story cuts back and forth between his and the billionaire's perspectives, gradually revealing how easily the poisons of ambition, wealth, and revolutionary violence can become entangled.
A contemporary and poignant fable that picks up the mantle of the economically disenfranchised, Rich and Poor delves into the psychology of politics in ways that are off-kilter, unexpected, and unnerving.

Anxious to get married, thirty-year-old Virginia Carey lands a job as an operator at a police tip line, where she thinks finding a husband will be easy. There’s Charlie Ford, a surprisingly sweet homicide detective, and charming police chief Declan “Deck” Brady. But just as Virginia’s plans begin to fall into place and she can almost picture a ring on her finger, she answers a call from Verona—a mysterious woman who provides a tip about four bodies on a remote local beach. Verona, a sex worker, also gives Virginia details on sordid and raucous parties attended by law enforcement officers—and on the strange fetishes of cops she has been involved with. Then comes an explosive tip: Verona thinks it’s a police officer who is responsible for the killings. But it can’t be true—the cops Virginia works with are marriage material, even if they are a little rough around the edges. While Verona trusts that her tips are being heard because she and Virginia have formed an unusual connection, Virginia realizes that the key to solving the case is ultimately in her hands. The tip line will reveal the truth about those murders. So long as Virginia is willing to hear it.

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice. In a quiet English village, Father Gregory, a compassionate parish priest, begins to suffer from a baffling medical condition—his body rejects normal food, his blood oxygen drops to dangerous levels, and he develops an unsettling tolerance, then need, for blood. Guided by a pragmatic physician, his symptoms are treated as a rare metabolic disorder, grounded in real science rather than superstition.
Gregory refuses to see himself as a monster. Instead, he reframes his condition as part of his calling—something he has been given to work with in service to others. As he continues his ministry, he discovers an unexpected ability: he can sense illness in others through smell, allowing him to offer not just prayer, but tangible, immediate help.
Word spreads quietly—first among parishioners, then far beyond. Travelers begin arriving. Not the sick, but others like him.
They are vampires—though the word is never spoken. Some are newly afflicted and terrified. Others are centuries old, sustained through ethically sourced blood and hidden systems embedded within modern society. Among them is an ancient man of immense wealth and influence, who has spent generations funding medical breakthroughs for humanity while secretly sustaining himself through science.
For the first time, he turns that power inward.
Believing Gregory represents a rare “middle state”—still human, still aging, still capable of choice—he funds groundbreaking research into the condition: not to cure it outright, but to understand it, stabilize it, and, if desired, end it peacefully. His goal is not immortality, but release.

As a hidden community gathers around the church, what begins as a grounded medical mystery evolves into a profound exploration of faith, identity, and choice. Gregory becomes a reluctant bridge between worlds

In a world that looks perfectly ordinary, the thin veil of reality begins to stretch and tear in this haunting psychological narrative. The story explores the unsettling sensation that life is not being lived for the first time, but rather replayed according to a hidden, invisible script. As the mundane rhythms of a city morning take on a choreographed and mechanical precision, a quiet sense of dread permeates every interaction. This atmospheric work delves into the psychological weight of persistent déjà vu, where every minor coincidence feels like a signal from a truth just out of reach. Readers are invited to question the nature of free will versus predestination in a landscape where the past and present seem to collide without warning. It is a cerebral journey that challenges the boundaries between a mind under stress and a world that may be fundamentally flawed. In this gripping exploration of perception, the most terrifying element isn't what is unknown, but what feels far too familiar.
