This is in part a ‘how to’ guide yes, but it’s more than that. It’s about active learning, imprinting with God, making Christianity accessible and memorable. Then there are the classic games such as pass the parcel and church treasure hunts that are playfully woven into services to create an infectious enthusiasm for Christmas that goes beyond the presents and the physical manifestations of Christmas today.  
 
Arranged over three parts, Reverend Parker first sets out a series of stand-alone services suitable for a school assembly or sermon slot with simple, symbolic aids and props to bring the act of worship to life. In part II there follows a selection of full-length major services that can be reproduced with or without adaptation and with practical pointers such as how to recruit willing helpers to enable these plans to come together.
 
A final section comprises ideas to embellish the themes covered in the earlier chapters. From human camels and Christmas action songs to carols sung to the tune of “Match of the Day”, you’ll find plenty of inspiration to engage young and old alike.
