Sinopsis

Sustainability, Energy Reset, Green Economy and Resilient Future

We live in a world where our environmental footprint is growing. The demands of a modern lifestyle require us to be more aware of our impact on the planet. People must learn to be more conscious of their consumption.
The new era of sustainability is now becoming a dominant theme in all aspects of our businesses, communities, and living spaces. With its ever-evolving technologies, such as green finance, renewable energy, electric vehicles, and sustainable design and construction, this age is taking root in every aspect of our lives.
Sustainability is crucial for the future of our planet, and as a means of consumerism, we need to step up our game, or risk things going haywire.
“Sustainability” starts with a few basic questions. What does sustainability mean? What does it look like? What are the steps that will lead to sustainable living? What will happen when people begin to live more sustainably?
In this book, we will also examine the current transition from an economy dependent on fossil fuels to one dependent on solar energy, innovations in electric vehicles, development in green economy by investing in renewable energy sources; eco-friendly urban mobility; urban green spaces; and sustainable food systems. These green spaces require significant changes to the lifestyles of their residents.
But in reality, we already are consuming more than we can sustain. Every action we take, from shopping to flying to walking, contributes to environmental degradation. It doesn’t have to be this way. Everybody has the power to change the way we live and we all have a responsibility to help shift the needle. Everything we do matters. And even if you’re not ready to make drastic changes right now, there are plenty of things you can do today

    theway back home
    Book 2 of 6 – a trio reunited
In prehistoric Norway (5000 BC), siblings Asha and Cosmo continue their journey home alongside their newfound companion—Fluffy, a lost baby woolly mammoth who can speak. As they travel east toward a distant river Fluffy believes will lead to his herd, the trio deepens their bond through shared survival skills. Asha soothes Fluffy’s itchy ears with herbal remedies, Cosmo teaches stealth techniques (with comically poor results), and Fluffy impresses them by sniffing out food and water.
Their friendship is tested when a cave bear attacks their hillside camp. Fluffy bravely confronts the predator while Cosmo distracts it and Asha creates noise from a safe distance. Together, they drive the bear away, solidifying their trust in one another. That night, they realize they’ve become an unlikely family—a "herd" of their own—united by loyalty and shared purpose.

RENEE: I was ten years old then, and my sister was eight. The responsibility was on me to warn everyone when the soldiers were coming because my sister and both my parents were deaf.

    I was my family's ears.

Meet Renee and Herta, two sisters who faced the unimaginable—together. This is their true story.

As Jews living in 1940s Czechoslovakia, Renee, Herta, and their parents were in immediate danger when the Holocaust came to their door. As the only hearing person in her family, Renee had to alert her parents and sister whenever the sound of Nazi boots approached their home so they could hide.

But soon their parents were tragically taken away, and the two sisters went on the run, desperate to find a safe place to hide. Eventually they, too, would be captured and taken to the concentration camp Bergen-Belsen. Communicating in sign language and relying on each other for strength in the midst of illness, death, and starvation, Renee and Herta would have to fight to survive the darkest of times.

This gripping memoir is a testament to the power of sisterhood and love, and now more than ever a reminder of how important it is to honor the past, and keep telling our own stories.

A girl with the ability to borrow other people's talents must use her powers to find her own spotlight in a wish-fulfilling middle-grade novel from Mike Thayer, the author of The Double Life of Danny Day.

Tiffany Tudwell is cursed. She once tripped over a backpack and fell face-first into a trashcan. She had pink eye on picture day. One time she tried to hold back a sneeze and farted on the cutest boy in class. She longs for the spotlight, but it's safer to stay hidden in the shadows where the curse can't reach her and no one can make fun of her.

Until the night two meteors collide over her backyard giving Tiffany the ability to steal people's talents for a day—like stealing mean girl Candace's beautiful singing voice in the middle of play rehearsal, or drawing an incredible self-portrait after borrowing the teacher's pencil. Her power even gets the attention of the most popular boy in school, the smooth-talking Brady Northrup.

But her powers can't solve everything—or can they? When a local philanthropist announces a fundraiser contest, Tiffany, with Brady's help, decides to use her powers to save her dad's failing planetarium. And maybe discover her own talent along the way . . .

The OLD MARTIANS by Rog Phillips - They opened the ruins to tourists at a dollar a head but they reckoned without The OLD MARTIANS.
The man with the pith helmet had his back toward me. Hunched forward, he was screaming at the girl in the lens of his camera. "Don't just stand there, Dotty! Move! Do something! Back up toward that column with inscriptions on it...."
The girl was tall and longlegged with ideal body proportions, her features and skin coloring a perfect norm-blend with no throwback elements. Right now she seemed confused and half-frightened as she tried to comply with the directions of the man with the movie camera. She smiled artificially, turned her head to look at the fragment of a wall behind her, reached out with a finger and started tracing the lines of an almost obliterated inscription in its stone surface.
The camera stopped whirring. Its owner straightened and grumbled, "That's all."
Now the girl was allowed to go back to her worrying. Swiftly she surveyed the crowd, but didn't find the person she was looking for. She started moving toward one of the arches that led deeper into the ruins.
    I followed her slowly.
She passed through the arch, stopped, and turned her head toward the right, her eyes on something out of sight. She'd found him, but she saw me at the same time and her worry deepened.
When she moved back into the crowd, I strolled casually through the archway.
There was a vaguely defined passageway, the roof over it gone for half a million years, of course. And twenty feet away, oblivious of his surroundings except for what was directly in front of him, was my man.
His height and build were somewhat less than the norm. But it was his profile that drew my attention. A remarkable throwback; a throwback of a distinct type.
