You’ll start by setting up a Docker server and configuring Jenkins on it. Next, you’ll discover steps for building applications and microservices on Dockerfiles and integrating them with Jenkins using continuous delivery processes such as continuous integration, automated acceptance testing, configuration management, and Infrastructure as Code. Moving ahead, you'll learn how to ensure quick application deployment with Docker containers, along with scaling Jenkins using Kubernetes. Later, you’ll explore how to deploy applications using Docker images and test them with Jenkins. Toward the concluding chapters, the book will focus on missing parts of the CD pipeline, such as the environments and infrastructure, application versioning, and non-functional testing.

A herd of bison standing in the snow. Layered bluffs of multicolored sandstone. A silver Airstream trailer on a mountain highway. These are familiar sights for Neil Mathison and his wife, Susan. Newly retired, their son in college, they embark upon a great American road trip "uncoupled from the tyranny of calendars or a specific journey." Airstream Country recounts their travels across the western United States as they move from Montana to Malibu and Seattle to Silverton, winding their way through millions of years of geological history with their Airstream in tow. Along the way they encounter upheavals and depositions, ancient seas and young mountains, and stone towers and striated canyons, which are all illuminated by Mathison's knowledgeable commentary. Even after thousands of miles and eons of geology, their adventures are never finished, for, as Mathison writes, "We learn by travel where we ought to travel more."

Mary Jumbelic has been obsessed with death since the loss of her father when she was 13. The sudden departure of her dad, the mother left behind, and her position as an only child led her to grow up quickly. Yet the why and how of her father's death plagued her. She chose to view an autopsy at the age of 15 and discovered a science that explained the process. College, medical school and becoming a forensic pathologist wasn't a given. She struggled before ultimately deciding on a career as a medical examiner. For 25 years, she analyzed corpses and explained to families what had happened to their loved ones, something that hadn't been done for her. She faced blood, gore, violence, and grief in urban and country morgues. She worked for the federal government and internationally in mass disasters. This daily confrontation challenged her to re-live her own loss. She became an advocate in recognizing preventable injuries to help reduce fatalities. Dr. Jumbelic developed a way to honor the person's life by speaking for them in courts, classrooms, and interviews. How did she finally integrate death into her own life so filled with hope? This is her journey.Mary Jumbelic, M.D., is a board-certified forensic pathologist who has performed thousands of autopsies. She received awards from the National Transportation Safety Board and the New York State Senate, and has been recognized by the National Organization of Women as a trailblazer. AI has the potential to transform leadership and the human experience of work—or to lead us into an automated and uninspiring work reality. Which one will it be?

Humans have always been good at inventing tools that change the way we live and work—though not always good at adapting to those changes. Consider how the internet has given us instant access to gigabytes of data and yet has made us more distracted. Or how social media has enabled us to be more connected than ever, and yet it can also alienate or isolate us. Will the power of AI create a new era of robotic, impersonal efficiency, or will it catalyze a renaissance, redefining leadership and the world of work?

So far, that question has mostly prompted a wave of anxiety about the disappearance of jobs and the loss of humanness in our work lives. But as Rasmus Hougaard and Jacqueline Carter show in this essential book, that's a very limited perspective on the impact of AI, leaving out a crucial point: AI has the power to transform leadership for the better—the key is in how leaders use it.

With deep insight and rigorous research, More Human will help leaders navigate our AI-enabled future.

If you have Lyme disease, you know firsthand the desperation that comes from being misdiagnosed, misunderstood, and misdirected. You need straight answers and real solutions, but all you get is the runaround. Riding high as a hard-driving entrepreneur in the solar industry, Taylor Nelson contracted Lyme disease in his midtwenties. Spiraling down swiftly, he tried everything to feel like himself again, turning himself into a human guinea pig. He took coffee enemas and gave himself ozone injections. Police officers transported him to a psychiatric hospital (he talked his way out), and he gave sales sermons while on LSD—all because of Lyme. Years of experimentation and determination taught him how to manage a disease that can seem unmanageable.Candid and raw, Nelson doesn’t hold back. He shares his deeply personal story, what he tried, how it worked, and how to live a full life in the face of a devastating disease.
