Sinopsis

At first she’d only wanted Gavin because he was a man, he was there, and she desperately wanted to feel alive and vital. During dinner she’d covertly studied him, and she’d realized he was not only a man, but a very attractive one. His skin was bronzed from recent weeks in the sun, and the muscles in his arms were clearly defined. Just watching him as he led her back to the straw pallet where she’d slept was making her unbearably horny. What would it feel like when his hands glided over her? Would he be rough with impatience, or gentle with her? Would she feel pleasure when he took her? Or would the pain her mother had warned her of—to keep her from doing anything reckless, she was sure—keep her from enjoying the experience? It didn’t matter. She had to know. She wanted to experience every single thing life had to offer, starting with giving herself to this strong, clever man who had rescued her. “No, I’m not going to have sex with you,” he said bluntly when he saw her fingers lift to the top button of the oversized shirt she was wearing. “You’re not strong enough yet, and I’ve been working hard all day. Now lay down and get some sleep.” “I’ve been sleeping all day!” Her voice was perilously close to a whine, and she made an effort to control it. “I’m not tired.” “Well, I am.” He flopped down on the single sheet, and began to unlace his boots. “What?” he demanded when she just blinked at him in surprise. “Where did you think I’d be sleeping? Until we can carve out a larger territory, this is it, sweetheart—our entire home-away-from-home.” The caustic way he said ‘sweetheart’ wasn’t exactly romantic, but suddenly Cleo didn’t care. Maybe he wouldn’t have sex with her tonight—but at least she’d get to sleep next to him. Maybe she could snuggle up against him in the middle of the night and… “Don’t get any ideas,” he snapped, reading her expression with disturbing ease. “You’re not up to anything, and neither am I.” He was lying, of course. His shaft was so hot and hard, it was standing straight up and banging energetically against his flat stomach.
