Summary

During the time of Ancient Rome, young landowner Marius journeys to Rome, and makes an overnight stop with Lucius, his young slave. The stop is at a school where the slave’s older brother is training to be a gladiator. Marius is not there for pleasure, that is of course until he spies Atticus, the slave, a gladiator in training who also happens to be the brother of Lucius. When Atticus and Marius finally meet, they are instantly transfixed by each other. But how could master and slave ever find themselves safely together?
