Sinopsis

Trapped near String Valley, Major Penrose’s battered force faces relentless alien troops known as the Seth. Their path home is blocked, supplies are low, and lethal ambushes lurk in dense, spike-filled terrain. Lieutenant Bruce watches hope slip away—until a curious figure steps forward.

Called the Mumbo-Jumbo Man, Lieutenant Kenton belongs to a peculiar unit that claims to wield strange, hypnotic powers. Rumors suggest such methods can dull enemy senses and rally weary soldiers. As the Terrans brace for a desperate stand, Penrose must decide if this odd “magic” offers their last slim chance at survival.

Death-Wish by Ray Bradbury - They wandered the dead and fragile cities, looking for the legendary Blue Bottle–not knowing what it was, nor caring, not really wanting to find it… ever…
The sundials were tumbled into white pebbles. The birds of the air now flew in ancient skies of rock and sand, buried, their songs stopped. The rivers were currented with dust which flooded across the land when the wind bade it reenact an old tale of engulfment. The cities were deep laid with granaries of silence, time stored and kept, golden kernels of forgetfulness, pools and fountains of quietude and memory.
    Mars was dead.
And then out of the large stillness, from a great distance, on the stones of an old highway, there was a tiny sound. First, like an insect, and growing larger, between the cinnamon hills, and finally broadening, flattening out, the sound buzzing and humming, while something moved, growing big.
The highway trembled. The rocks ground one upon another briefly. The sound grew into a thunder which shook down avalanches of dust in the old cities.

"To read is to perform. I have many names, however, that cannot be true. The title of this text has been changed many times, and these are the names I can still recall: 'Drinking milk', 'Look!', 'The Breath', and 'Sin'. I am afraid of making mistakes. It seems mistakes are omnipresent, and the phobia about making a mistake is never discontinued. I am afraid I am alone."
So starts Sine Kang's existential tale of a mother and son. Sine's work delves into the ideas of hatred, knowledge, the world, perfection, and the concept of words themselves.
With confidence in the written word, Sine's masterful work rouses the readers mind in concepts and thoughts that will preoccupy a mind long after the work has been completed. Through witnessing the discussion between a mother and son, a son's whose voice is ignored, and a mother whose ignorance is forced, we come to understand that the long discussions of Mother and Son on the page is merely an example of the discussions we wish to have with our friends, our loved ones, and ourselves.
Siné is a poet and playwright in South Korea. She lives on an island called Namhae-gun. And she invites you to read along.
