Beschreibung

The Philadelphian Society was a dissenting and mystical movement - but also, in fact, an initiatory society - founded in England in the 17th century by John Pordage (1607-1681), an Anglican priest from Bradfield, Berkshire. The members of the Philadelphian Society held views that were somewhat similar to Pantheism, regarding the belief in the presence of God in all things, and with a nondualist component, in that they also believed the presence of the Holy Spirit exists in each and everyone’s soul, and that one can become enlightened and illuminated by living a virtuous life and seeking truth through the wisdom of God.The Theosophical Transactions was the official journal of the Philadelphian Society. This short lived magazine (four issues appeared during 1697) was edited by Francis Lee, the son-in-law of Jane Lead. Most of the articles in this magazine were published without credit or else given pseudonymous authors, though the bulk of these were probably written by Francis Lee or his colleague Richard Roach. Among these is this interesting philosophical dialogue On the Philadelphian Gold (A Conference betwixt Philochrysus and Philadelphus on the Philadelphian Gold).

In Jesus Through Us, you will be an eyewitness as Jesus multiplies His ministry by sending out His disciples, challenges His followers to serve God and others wholeheartedly, heals lepers, raises Lazarus from the dead, faces plots against His life, and rides triumphantly as King into Jerusalem, where He speaks of the resurrection of believers just before His own death and resurrection. Each day features a Scripture reading, a "Life Lessons with Jesus" segment, questions for reflection, and a prayer. Experiencing life with Jesus will lead you to become more deeply committed to God and serving others in His name. Jesus Through Us is the third book in the Life Along the Way series, which takes you through the life of Jesus via all four Gospels and the first chapter of Acts. In four 90-day devotionals, you can travel with Jesus for a full year if you wish—from His birth, to His ministry and miracles, to His relationships with the people around Him, to His death, resurrection, and ascension. The three other devotionals, which you can read either sequentially or in any order, are #1, Jesus with Us: Meeting Him Where He Began, #2, Jesus Among Us: Walking with Him in His Ministry and Miracles, and #4, Jesus in Us: Living Wholeheartedly the Life He Intends. As you journey each day with the Savior, you will learn to love Jesus and love like Jesus.

A personal story of holding on to faith in Christ in the face of loss.Author Melissa Zaldivar talks honestly about losing everything that once defined her and how God used unexpected opportunities, like working at Orchard House, where Louisa May Alcott wrote Little Women, to spark a journey of working through her grief and encountering the all-sufficient love of Christ.Weaving inspiring passages of Scripture and insights from Little Women into her personal story, Melissa encourages readers with her discovery that it’s when we have nothing left to offer that we can receive God’s love the most. And that’s something that can never be lost. Readers will be reassured that God will meet them in the midst of their mess and urged to look to him for help, comfort and strength.A great gift for those whose faith is being tested in the face of a loss of any kind—a loved one, a job or a relationship.

    · navigate spiritual warfare with Christian maturity and wisdom
    · covers both ordinary spiritual warfare, like personal temptation, and "extraordinary" encounters, such as demonic oppression, possession, and exorcisms
    · from a pastor, missionary, and former military chaplain

Our modern Western world is deeply confused about what is good and what is evil. We know little about angels and demons, though the Scriptures we purport to believe have much to say about them. We blur the distinction between God and the devil. And we are paying for it. Denial of reality does not change reality.

Drawing from Scripture, history, and his own experiences as a missionary and a military chaplain, Harold Ristau helps Christians develop a biblical understanding of our spiritual vulnerability in both "ordinary" life, such as personal temptation, and "extraordinary" situations such as demonic oppression and possession. He takes us beyond theory, where many other resources stop, laying out practical tools to equip us for our own personal battles and steps to take to protect ourselves and others from the evil forces at work in our world. And he lays out an effective, proven process for mature ministers and clergy to follow when performing an exorcism.

There is much more to the struggles we face in life than meets the eye. If you want to be prepared for the battles that lie ahead, this book is your grounded, thorough, and hope-filled guide to ministering to the demonically oppressed or possessed.

Abi thought she had a charmed life. She’s got her dream job, family and friends who love her, and she just bought a great old house! Everything would be perfect, if not for the logging company that’s just set up shop next door.
And the guy she can’t seem to stop shtupping.
Who just happens to be their chief tree cutter. Er, logger. Lumberjack?
Ilan took over his father’s business three years ago and he’s proud of the success he’s earned. Getting the contract to clear the Howell acreage is just another in a string of achievements. He didn’t mean for it to be such a sore subject for the people of the neighborhood.
He especially didn’t mean to find himself naked with Abi.
At least not more than once.
    Definitely not more than twice.
Too bad it seems to keep happening. Worse, they can’t say two words to each other without wanting to throw things. But there’s no way the attraction will last, nobody who gets that turned on can stay that way and get anything done, right?
