Sinopsis

The concept of charity has been a distant and perhaps abstract thought for those of us who have worked in church leadership roles in recent years. We are aware that philanthropists exist, but we do not normally associate with them. Many of us would have no personal experience with one. Yes, we occasionally request funds from philanthropic foundations, but that is usually as near as we go.

Is It Possible for Us to Become Philanthropists?

What would it be like if those of us who head Christian ministries become philanthropists ourselves? At first look, that may appear to be a stretch. However, I wouldn't be shocked if this aligns with the direction in which God's stream appears to be flowing this season.

We live in unusual times. Around the world, the twenty-first century is already shaping up to be a quantum jump from the twentieth. We are currently living in the Second Apostolic Age, in which the biblical church government has resurfaced. The Holy Spirit has began to speak to churches about assuming dominion over God's creation, as God intended. Our mission of saving souls and multiplying churches in the twentieth century has been enlarged to include nothing less than societal transformation.

Many Christians see conflict as a dirty word—something to be avoided at all costs. After all, aren't Christians to be peacemakers who strive to maintain unity?

But, as Lou Priolo reminds us, many other things that the Bible exhorts us to do—such as convicting, rebuking, and admonishing other Christians—make conflict a necessary part of the Christian life.

Lou takes us through the biblical principles of conflict resolution, beginning before conflict even starts. He shows us the prerequisites we must have in place as we go into conflict, what is at the heart of our conflict, what makes it biblical or unbiblical, and how we should respond to it. He also shares practical steps and advice, giving us specific talking points to resolve conflict and journaling exercises that help us to grow when it happens.

Learn how to "make every effort" to maintain unity—even when that effort must start with conflict!

It was his own wish that The Divine Companion should be the last MS of his to be published. Therefore hold it back until you have published everything else." - Lily Allen

The Old Testament book of Psalms is a beautiful and deeply heartfelt collection of poetry, much of which was written by King David. Originally intended to be sung, these personal expressions of faith in God encompass the full gamut of human emotions, from utter despair to exuberant praise. I pray that these readings with musical accompaniment encourage you, too, to pour out your whole heart to God, knowing that He loves to hear all of your prayers.
