"People can achieve success in business deals and job interviews if they put into practice what is learned here in this set of content and materials. Absorbing the knowledge is not enough. It is absolutely critical that the rehearsal and the practicing generates the experience to achieve success. It is important to note that the methodologies discussed are proven through research and testing and demonstrated by being put into practice. The book ""Get Them To Say Yes"" comes in two parts. The first part is the presentation of content and material relevant two job interviews and negotiations. The second part is a workbook for homework practice. The workbook offers three opportunities to practice for the purpose of seeing successful progression. This serves as a confirmation of learning to build confidence and satisfaction. The goal is to head in the direction of success. Included in the content of this book are other resources that can be used to go beyond the scope of this book. Look for them and take advantage of them. This content and material begin in some way as a memoir in appreciation to those who have helped plant the seeds that supported the development of the paperback book, e-book, album, video book, and online lecture. As a professor I usually start my lectures by explaining a little about my background so that students understand and recognize the meaning and revelation behind what I am saying. It is important for students to recognize that what is being presented is based on factual hands-on experience and not opinion and hearsay. I owe a lot to the organizations that I have founded which have served as vehicles of exploration. During this exploration, I have met many amazing people who I respect and admire who have put tracks in front of me to leave me alone mentored success. My obedience to this guidance has prevented my efforts from falling off the cliff into disaster. I am so grateful and thankful. This is what I want to share. I begin by giving great thanks to those who have come across my path with the organizations that I have found it. Book Summary of "Zero to One" by Peter Thiel; Blake MastersZero To One: Notes on Startups, or How to Build the Futureby Peter Thiel; Blake MastersABOUT THIS AUDIOBOOK SUMMARY:The book, "Zero to One" was inspired by a collection of lectures delivered by Peter Thiel during his teaching years at Stanford. Along with co-author (and former student) Blake Masters — Thiel has put together a hard-hitting set of standards for entrepreneurs, startups, and thought-leaders to carefully consider when building the “next big thing” of the future.Quite frankly, certain sections of the book are so ridiculously well put together that one just sits there and thinks after reading them. Chapter after chapter, Thiel gives example after example of how to successfully build the future. But Why Listen To Thiel? Well, Peter Thiel has played a role in partnering with, inspiring and/or investing in some of the most successful tech entrepreneurs in the United States (and probably the world) including:Elon Musk – who founded SpaceX and co-founded Tesla Motors;Reid Hoffman – who co-founded LinkedIn;Steve Chen, Chad Hurley, and Jawed Karim – who together founded YouTube;Jeremy Stoppelman and Russel Simmons – who founded Yelp;David Sacks – who co-founded Yammer; andHimself, Peter Thiel – who founded PayPal and Palantir.Oh, and by the way — all of the above named companies are worth at least $1 billion each. That’s a serious chunk of change. Reading Zero To One is sort of like taking a peek into the mind of one of the most successful multi-billionaire investors alive today… In these FlashNotes, we’ll get into the top 10-12 key take-aways from the book, including:- The “DOs and DON’Ts” of startups- What to focus on when building a startup- Insights on building a billion dollar startup that stands the test of time- And much, much more...

The epic story of the rise, fall, and redemption of an iconic American restaurant, one of only five in the Fortune 500.Scarred by the deaths of his mother and sisters and the failure of his father’s business, a young man dreamed of making enough money to retire early and retreat into the secure world that his childhood tragedies had torn from him. But Harry Luby refused to be a robber baron. Turning totally against the tide of avaricious capitalism, he determined to make a fortune by doing good. Starting with that unlikely, even naive, ambition in 1911, Harry Luby founded a cafeteria empire that by the 1980s had revenues second only to McDonald’s. So successfully did Luby and his heirs satisfy the tastes of America that Luby’s became the country’s largest cafeteria chain, creating more millionaires per capita among its employees than any other corporation of its size. Even more surprising, the company stayed true to Harry Luby’s vision for eight decades, making money by treating its customers and employees exceptionally well.Written with the sweep and drama of a novel, House of Plenty tells the engrossing story of Luby’s founding and phenomenal growth, its long run as America's favorite family restaurant during the post-World War II decades, its financial failure during the greed-driven 1990s when non-family leadership jettisoned the company’s proven business model, and its recent struggle back to solvency. Carol Dawson and Carol Johnston draw on insider stories and company records to recapture the forces that propelled the company to its greatest heights, including its unprecedented practices of allowing store managers to keep 40 percent of net profits and issuing stock to all employees, which allowed thousands of Luby’s workers to achieve the American dream of honestly earned prosperity. The authors also plumb the depths of the Luby’s drama, including a hushed-up theft that split the family for decades; the 1991 mass shooting at the Killeen Luby’s, which splattered the company’s good name across headlines nationwide; and the rapacious over-expansion that more than doubled the company’s size in nine years (1987-1996), pushed it into bankruptcy, and drove president and CEO John Edward Curtis Jr. to violent suicide.Disproving F. Scott Fitzgerald’s adage that “there are no second acts in American lives,” House of Plenty tells the epic story of an iconic American institution that has risen, fallen, and found redemption—with no curtain call in sight.“Intrigue, mystery, and strategy—all in a historical profile of Luby’s Cafeterias. This is a book about an institution we all knew as home—never thinking that the foundation was a business plan destined to work for fifty years. What went wrong? Read on! A “must” for business schools everywhere, and a fun read for everyone.”—Jon Brumley, Forbes Entrepreneur of the Year, cofounder and chairman of the Board of Encore Acquisitions Company
