Sinossi

Travelling home from London after dancing the Rite of Spring in Trafalgar Square with Sister Winifrede, Jack (nicknamed Jane) Austin and Mandy have a phone conversation with Jack's recently discovered son, Angie.

Like his father before him, Angie is viewed as inept (D.C.I. Jack Austin is reputed to have never solved a crime). However, in MI5, Jack Austin is a clever bonce analyst, but that is a secret, naturally. So when Angie is appointed lead investigator into council planning decisions, it is all seen as a marvellous and most amusing side show, while the corporations and an organisation called Hegemon plunder the coastal resources of Portsmouth in the UK.

However, Angie has inherited his dad’s analytical genes, and begins to reveal the undercurrents of conspiracy. But could he be the surreal defender of democracy, just as his father had been?

A comedic but serious tale, 'Blood Sport' is the third book in Pete Adams's DaDa Detective Agency series.

The Forgotten Expedition by Hank Wilson tells the story of a group of Spanish explorers who disappeared from the official records. They were a product of their time. Their story actually begins in 1598, when one of the most brutal of all of the Spanish governors in what is now New Mexico came into power. Juan de Oñate brought in approximately 400 settlers and built a settlement named San Juan de los Caballeros. His real purpose was not to establish a new colony but to locate the legendary treasure of Quivira. He started searching for the treasure in 1601, he never did locate it and his missions to find gold and treasure were fruitless. His legacy does, however, include perhaps the most inhumane treatment of the Pueblo peoples in the area, and he left office in 1607 in disgrace. He was found guilty of cruelty, immorality, and false reporting, and he was exiled from the colony, fined, and deprived of his titles.

This story takes place approximately 4 years after Onate’s departure. New Mexico has a new governor, Governor Don Pedro de Peralta. He has authorized an expedition to explore more of what is now the Trans-Pecos region of the American Southwest. While the story is fictional, the people’s involved all either could have or did exist during this period. This story is built around excerpts from the journal of Fray Miguel De La Garza as he recorded the events that took place during the group’s exploration of an unknown territory.

Those who found the journal noted the closing entry “I recorded this for the benefit of those who are to come. I have tried to be faithful to what we saw and did. May God have mercy on our souls. Fray Miguel De La Garza. December 1611”

The Santa Killer is coming to town…
One night less than two weeks before Christmas, a single mother is violently assaulted. It’s a brutal crime at the time of year when there should be goodwill to all. When DI Barton begins his investigation, he’s surprised to find the victim is a woman with nothing to hide and no reason for anyone to hurt her.
A few days later, the mother of the woman attacked rings the police station. Her granddaughter has drawn a shocking picture. It seems she was looking out of the window when her mother was attacked. And when her grandmother asks the young girl who the person with the weapon is, she whispers two words.
    Bad Santa.
The rumours start spreading, and none of the city’s women feel safe - which one of them will be next?
He’s got a list. It’s quite precise. It won’t matter even if you’re nice.

"Readers seeking a contemporary thriller that embraces military technology, social change, and political intrigue will welcome A Day in Fall's involving, satisfyingly complex events." - Midwest Book Review
The election of an inexperienced and controversial president threatens to plunge America into chaos. When a prominent demographist is abducted shortly after a deadly riot, Echelon agent Michael Larson is the only one who connects the two events.
Echelon tracks the growing threat of domestic extremism. It doesn't take Larson long to discover that a very real foe is gaining power - the alternative right. More acts of violence are promised. All evidence points to someone in the highest ranks of the federal government helping them.
A prolific newcomer named Samit Bathari bursts onto the scene. And although he seems like the answer to all of America's problems, he has his own dark past that must be reckoned with as democracy and the country's very fabric are endangered.
