Sinopse

Existence is about survival.

A continually bullied runt of a youngster, Chas Larkin discovers his chutzpah and decides to take on the London gangs.

In the sleazy and violent East End of 1966 London, he is unwittingly assisted by Scotland Yard and MI5, who use the boy to delay an IRA campaign in the city. Together with the mysterious DCI Casey, an enigma amongst the bomb-damaged slums, they stir the pot of fermenting disquiet.

But can Chas achieve his midsummer night's dream of total revenge?

Black Rose is a story of matriarchal might, of superstition, of a lucky charm tainted with malevolent juju, and of a young man's smoldering anger and thirst for retribution.

His five-book series, Itchy Feet Travel Tales in Asia, covers his adventures (and misadventures) in Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Russia, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Narrated by the author, these stories of the sublime and the surreal will have you giggling and gawking as you follow Sam through the weird and wonderful world of the East.

This series of tales was compiled during the recent pandemic lockdown and they include colourful incidents in the lives of bonesetters, matchmakers, youthful lovers, newcomers from beyond the mountains, a reformed villain’s wedding, celebrated by the whole community for days thereafter, and lots more. This is the second volume and has been written once more in a lyrical language similar to that of past storytellers such as Mark Twain - enthralling and unbelievable at times.Reflections should certainly appeal to those not only with an interest in Ireland’s social history but to fans of the author’s earlier novels."An effortless evocation of an almost-forgotten world...wonderfully personable narration and endlessly charming characterisation." (Addison & Cole)

‘A delicious story that wraps itself around your heart’ Evie Woods
    Everyone has a story…
The local library is a place for community members to enjoy a cup of coffee, to read a book, to swap a book, to exchange ideas, and maybe even share a piece of themselves. It’s also a refuge for people like Hattie, looking to reconnect with her past, and Avril, trying to hide from the future, and Stuart, searching for a new purpose, and librarian Will, whose life has been spun in an unexpected direction.
Apart, they could not be more different from one another, but when a flyer for a writing competition draws Hattie, Avril, Stuart and Will together, they come to discover that a good story doesn't just open your eyes, but also your world…
For fans of Faith Hogan (The Women at Ocean's End), Laura Pearson (The Many Futures of Maddy Hart), Clare Swatman (Five Things I Love About You), Libby Page (The Lido), and Gillian Harvey (Midnight in Paris).
