The Fulatune Hardiness Handbook - Grow More Worldly-wise Attuned & Composed

Sinopsis

Many problems in life arise from the misinterpretation of behaviors or situations (misunderstandings, arguments, blowbacks) and the maladaptation to sought-out or endured environments (stress, awkwardness, “imposter syndrome”). In states of naïveté, confusion, or uneasiness, the issue isn’t so much about improving happiness or prosperity (not to mention leadership) as enhancing, first, discernment and attunement.

In The Fulatune℠ Hardiness Handbook, psychologist and sociologist Paul Arnault doesn’t provide quick fixes, magical recipes, flattery, spiritual guidance, or proclaim false promises and moralistic injunctions. He argues instead, often with bounce and humor, that developing insight and hardiness takes modesty, time, and work.

His fresh approach proposes a new rational and structured method to:

-reduce behavioral and situational misperceptions;

-prepare extensively for challenging situations;

-attune gradually to complex and/or tough environments;

-stay composed under massive pressure.

The Fulatune℠ system was created for an international audience weary of the redundant, simplistic, and ideological incantations often cluttering the mainstream self-help industry. Its purpose is to help people grow more worldly-wise, attuned, and composed, not only for “personal” development but also to acquire the reliability necessary to efficiently lend a hand to others.

    Meaning Incorporated presents, for the first time in audio, Hegel's Lectures on the History of Philosophy, volume 1. The lectures in this installment cover Hegel's demarcation of the history of philosophy as a discipline distinct from philosophy itself. He provides the intellectual context for the work in the way that only Hegel can, as part of his larger project to systematically approach the concept of Mind and the Absolute. Subsequent editions will be devoted to lectures from various historical periods. This work is intended for anyone interested in primary source material for human intellectual history, for researchers, students and hobbyists alike. A Treatise of Human Nature is a philosophical work written by the Scottish philosopher David Hume and published in three volumes between 1739 and 1740. The book explores a wide range of philosophical topics, including metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, and aesthetics, and it is considered one of the most influential works in the history of philosophy.
    Hume's central thesis is that all human knowledge is ultimately derived from sensory experience, and that there is no inherent connection between cause and effect. He argues that our beliefs about cause and effect are based on custom and habit, rather than any rational or logical foundation. This leads him to challenge many traditional metaphysical and religious beliefs, including the existence of God and the immortality of the soul.
    Hume's skeptical approach to knowledge and causality is also applied to ethics and aesthetics. He argues that moral judgments and aesthetic preferences are not based on reason, but rather on subjective feelings and emotions. This leads him to reject the idea of objective moral and aesthetic standards, and to propose a theory of moral and aesthetic relativism.
    Despite its controversial and radical views, A Treatise of Human Nature is widely regarded as a masterpiece of philosophical writing, and has had a profound influence on subsequent philosophical thought.

    The Power of Dreams tells the story of a couple, already in their 40’s, who uprooted themselves from urban life to follow their dream of living in the wilderness. They settled in a remote mountain valley called Precipice Valley, part of the ancient trade route linking B.C.’s Chilcotin plateau to the Pacific Coast.Surrounded by mountain vastness they lived there for nearly three decades, much of it in near-total isolation. Their dreams sustained them while they carved out a lifestyle that was both rewarding and challenging.These are the stories of how the two of them designed and hand-built a solar-powered, two-storey post and beam house while learning to live off-grid and in harmony with nature. They share their experiences with you through vivid descriptions of the adventures, people, places and the ingenious solutions needed as they forged their Precipice lifestyle and explored the wild world of the west Chilcotin.These vignettes will give you a feeling for life in the wilderness and perhaps inspire you to fulfill your own wilderness dream, helping you find a path through these challenging times when new ideas and insights are so desperately needed.

    Washington - A Legacy of Leadership

    His name is carved in granite, his likeness cast in bronze, his legend as large as the role he played as America's first president. But before he was a commander-in-chief, George Washington was a general in a revolution that would decide the future of the people and land he called his own. If victorious, he would gain immortality. If defeated, he would find his neck in a hangman's noose.
    Washington knew the sting of defeat—at Brandywine, at Germantown—yet this unwavering leadership and his vision for a new and independent nation emboldened an army prepared to fight barefoot if necessary to win that independence. Wrote an officer after the Battle of Princeton:  "I saw him brave all the dangers of the field and his important life hanging as it were by a single hair with a thousand deaths flying around him."
    Among America's pantheon of Founding Fathers, one man to this day stands out.  Author Paul Vickery tracks the unlikely rise of Washington, a man whose stature in command of a young army became prelude to a presidency. As Vickery writes, "He learned to become the father of our country by first being the father of our military."
