Sinopsis

"Breaking Barriers" presents a comprehensive exploration of how psychological obstacles shape our potential, offering a research-backed approach to personal transformation. Through a unique blend of cognitive behavioral psychology, social network theory, and performance psychology, the book reveals how internal resistance patterns often have a more significant impact on our success than external circumstances. The work stands out for its innovative "Barrier Pattern Matrix," which helps readers identify and address limiting patterns across various life domains. The book's three-part structure guides readers through a systematic journey of self-discovery and growth. Beginning with the neuroscience of self-limiting beliefs, it progresses to examine how social environments influence our barrier patterns, and concludes with practical frameworks for building psychological resilience. What makes this approach particularly valuable is its integration of findings from a five-year study of 1,000 individuals who successfully overcame significant personal barriers, providing readers with real-world evidence and applicable strategies. Aimed at professionals facing career plateaus and individuals in transition phases, the book bridges the gap between academic research and practical implementation. Each chapter offers actionable exercises and self-assessment tools, making complex psychological concepts accessible and applicable. The book's emphasis on social network analysis alongside personal development strategies provides a holistic approach to overcoming barriers, demonstrating how relationship patterns and support systems play crucial roles in achieving sustained personal growth.

Life is a game. Some play it well and become successful and prosperous. Some are health all of their lives. Some look young and vibrant into their advanced years. How? Florence Shinn tells us. Shinn proclaims, "Life is a Game." Some play it better than others. This book will teach you how to play the game of life and win.
In the 19th century, a school of thought and philosophy arose in the United States that was so powerful it changed the landscapes of religion, health and prosperity. The effects of the New Thought movement continue today and can be seen in how we now view our relationship with God, the universe, and ourselves. The New Thought movement has been termed a spiritual or metaphysical movement and a philosophical movement. It is the science of the mind teaching us how to use, will power, intent, affirmations, and visualization in order to manifest our visions in our lives today.
Shinn teaches us why some people are successful, some have their prayers answered, and why some fail. She teaches us the techniques we need to be successful and discusses how we can bring our visions and prayers into existence so we may live a life in a state of health and prosperity.

True strength lies in the courage to be yourself and speak your truth.
When Kath Essing recalled the sexual abuse from her childhood, her life turned upside-down. The secret had been hidden for decades, even from herself.
After 23 years of navigating her own mental health issues, Kath was ready to face her greatest challenge and disclose the experiences of her childhood sexual abuse to police.
The complicated history meant it wasn’t going to be easy to prove the historical sexual crimes; but this was more than seeking justice; it was about having the courage to speak up, finding the strength to heal, and shatter the silence that suffocated her.
This intimate memoir invites the reader into the confronting world of childhood abuse, family dynamics, and the emotional and psychological aspects of surviving and recovering as an adult. Kath’s story inspires readers to reclaim their voice by remembering, recovering, and reportingthe experiences of childhood sexual abuse.
The Courage to Speak Your Truth helps uplift survivors and enable them to transform their pain to purpose and change the conversation regarding childhood abuse. Kath advocates that together – with courage – survivors can shift the narrative of child abuse and dismantle the silence that maintains its cycle.

  • On The Firmness Of the Wise Person - What Cannot Be Taken from You: The Difference Between Being Hurt and Being Harmed (De Constantia Sapientis) - cover

On The Firmness Of the Wise...

What does it mean to be truly unshakeable? How do you ensure that insult and injury do not harm you?

Seneca knew how to endure the unendurable. Despite being one of the most rich and powerful men in Rome, but his life was a sustained exercise in surviving forces beyond his control. He was nearly executed by the paranoid emperor Caligula, exiled to the island of Corsica for eight long years on a false accusation, and spent his final years navigating the murderous whims of Nero, a student he had shaped and whom he could no longer restrain. In the end, ordered by Nero to take his own life in 65 CE, Seneca faced death with a composure that seemed to embody the very firmness he had described.
Knowing this makes this book a manual written by someone who needed it, not just another guru telling people how to live lessons they’ve never learned.
Addressed to his young friend Annaeus Serenus, the text unfolds as a warm, philosophical dialogue. Seneca states that the person who has cultivated genuine wisdom possesses an inner solidity that no external force can harm.
He acknowledges freely that the sage is more an ideal to aim for than a person we will ever meet in the flesh, but that we can journey towards that ideal through the steady, daily practice of identifying what lies within our control, refusing to outsource our wellbeing to the opinions of others, and meeting adversity not with despair or bitterness but with a kind of clear-eyed readiness.
The only genuine harm we can suffer is the damage we do to our own character through vice. This firmness is not a hardening of the heart, nor a retreat from emotion, but a deep-seated steadiness built on a clear understanding of what genuinely matters. The goal is not to eliminate feeling but to transform it, cultivating a relationship with the world that is engaged yet steady, open-hearted yet self-possessed.

Learn how to separate insult and injury from harm from the master of Stoicism.
