  Arnold Schwarzenegger is an Austrian and American actor, businessman, former politician, and bodybuilder. He began weightlifting at 15 and became Mr. Universe at 20. He is considered one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time. His bodybuilding career led to fame in Hollywood action films such as Conan the Barbarian and The Terminator. He was the 38th governor of California from 2003 to 2011. He was nicknamed the "Governator" during his political career. He has been a champion for environmental issues, creating the first cap on greenhouse gas emissions. His life is detailed in his autobiography, Total Recall.

  Arnold Schwarzenegger began lifting weights at the age of 15 and by 20, he had already won the Mr. Universe title. He would later go on to win the Mr. Olympia title seven times and is considered one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time. 
    
  Schwarzenegger's father, Gustav, was the local chief of police who joined the Nazi Party in 1938 and served as a military policeman in World War II. He was wounded in the Battle of Stalingrad and discharged in 1943 after contracting malaria. 
    
  Growing up, Schwarzenegger said that his parents were very strict, and he experienced what he described as "child abuse" at the hands of his father. He said his father would pull his hair and hit him with belts, and that this experience made him a rebel. 
    
  At school, Schwarzenegger was an average student and struggled with reading, and was later diagnosed with dyslexia. He was known for his "cheerful, good-humored, and exuberant" personality.
