  The Jacobites conjure up many images to 21st century Britons, including romantic heroism, the Outlander series, and Bonnie Prince Charlie as the doomed hero of the cause, but Jacobitism was a cause that had far reaching consequences across 18th century Europe. The Jacobites were not only supporters of the exiled Stuart monarchy, but also against the political and religious settlements agreed to across the British Isles. As Jacobite historians such as Daniel Szechi and Frank McLynn have noted, the specter of the Jacobite threat was present for the British government and monarchy in their dealings with European powers throughout the 18th century.[1] This was especially true in France, the country that supported the exiled Stuarts and gave them a home until 1714. This soured the French monarchy’s relationship with Britain, and the Hanoverian kings who replaced the Stuarts were always aware of French and Spanish attempts to return the British throne to the Catholic Stuarts.  
  	The Jacobite court in exile regularly issued propaganda detailing the policies they would enact if restored, and this often reflected the agitations of anyone opposed to the political status quo in Britain at any given time. The Jacobites after 1707 in Scotland were often associated with the repeal of the Treaty of Union, mostly as that coincided with popular opinion. Szechi has noted over the years that Jacobitism was fairly politically radical in its objectives, from religious toleration to freely elected Parliaments and curbs on political corruption.[2] The restoration of the Stuarts would also have seen a return to multi-kingdom monarchy in Britain and Ireland, and it would have changed the European alliances which were forged in the many wars fought during this period.  
  	Given all that, it’s no surprise the Jacobites continue to interest so many people, as do the plot twists, near misses, and “what-ifs” involved.

  The election of Abraham Lincoln was the impetus for the secession of the South, but that was merely one of many events that led up to the formation of the Confederacy and the start of the Civil War. Sectional hostility over the issue of slavery had been bubbling for most of the 19th century, and violence had already broken out in places like Bleeding Kansas. Political issues like the Missouri Compromise, popular sovereignty, and the Fugitive Slave Act all added to the arguments.  
  	The secession of the South was one of the seminal events in American history, but it also remains one of the most controversial. Over the last 160 years, the greatest debate over the Civil War has remained just what caused it, and as recently as April 2010, Virginia’s governor declared April “Confederate History Month in Virginia,” issuing a proclamation that made no mention of slavery. Facing an intense backlash, Virginia’s governor first defended his proclamation by noting "there were any number of aspects to that conflict between the states.” Days later, the governor apologized for the omission of slavery. In turn, the governor’s backtracking was criticized by many Southerners, most prominently the Sons of Confederate Veterans, a large organization dedicated to commemorating the Confederates. The governor later declared that there would be no Confederate History Month in 2011.    
  	Arguments over the war’s causes are nothing new. Before the war had even ended, Confederate soldiers were asserting that they were fighting for states’ rights. In the early 20th century, prominent historians such as Charles Beard theorized that the war was based on economic differences between the North and South. Although slavery had been the dominant political issue in the 50 years leading up to the Civil War, these historians began to assert that slavery was not necessarily a factor.

Friss argues that when the utopian vision of a cycling city faded by the turn of the century, its death paved the way for today’s car-centric cities—and ended the prospect of a true American cycling city ever being built.

    when you are begging and pleading and crying, understand that’s natural. It’s called the fear of loss, you have the fear of losing something. You might not notice that the person already mentally checked out on you for whatever reason only they can tell you.  
  This is what you can do to regain your power back: 
  1. Stop all that- because it’s not going to do any good. The more you beg and plead and do all this nice stuff and jump though all these monkey ass hoops for this person, they don’t care, they are not there mentally, their mind gone, so the best thing for you to do is stop, just stop. That’s the first thing you can do to start regaining your power back, stop all that. 
  2. Then what you want to do is Become independent- the more you don’t need that person, the more that person wants you. It’s backwards, its nature, it is set up that way. The more you don’t want something the more you get it. Kind of like rich people, they get richer because they are already rich, they are not working for money. But what I’m trying to tell you is this, when you don’t need them and you are self-reliant, and you are independent and you don’t need them for absolutely nothing, they’ll want you. Now this goes in business, whatever area of your life you want to place it in, when you don’t need it there it is. Really this is how you operate from a position of power, always remember people want what they can't have.
