  Audio Snaps is a series of 100-minute audio books, each featuring a dozen or so stories from each of my five books. Black Vinyl White Powder is a bit different from the other books in that it was written as a continuous narrative moving through story after story. So the best way to fit it into the formula for the series was simply to read the first six chapters (later, I'll do the rest of the book). Black Vinyl White Powder is a history of the British pop music with insight into the recreational drugs of the the day and their relevance. Since I was there, and a part of it, it's very much written from my own point of view.   On 6 and 9 August 1945, the United States detonated two atomic bombs over the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki respectively. The bombings killed between 129,000 and 226,000 people, most of whom were civilians, and remain the only use of nuclear weapons in an armed conflict. Japan surrendered to the Allies on 15 August, six days after the bombing of Nagasaki and the Soviet Union's declaration of war against Japan and invasion of Japanese-occupied Manchuria. The Japanese government signed the instrument of surrender on 2 September, effectively ending the war.
