Sinopsis

Who was the Zodiac Killer? Was he just a rogue madman or a sadistic man who was of a sound criminal mind? What if he was something else entirely?

Time has muddied the waters, kept the pain alive and shrouded all in a dark fog. Only a thin line keeps the cyphers connected. We need to follow it to go further and find new ways to uncover surprising and unexpected truths.

Paolo Gennari is an Italian entrepreneur born in the 70s, passionate about riddles and mysteries. He tackled the Zodiac cyphers using logic and his analysis and cryptographic skills. The result is a new and unusual reconstruction of the crimes that shocked California during the 60s and 70s.

Aesthetics is a branch of philosophy that explores the nature of beauty, art, and taste, and the creation and appreciation of beauty. It examines what makes something aesthetically pleasing or beautiful, and the principles underlying the judgments and experiences related to these concepts.
Aesthetics addresses a wide range of questions: What is beauty? Can aesthetic value be objectively determined, or is it entirely subjective? What role do cultural and historical contexts play in shaping our perceptions of beauty and art? How do sensory experiences and emotions influence our aesthetic judgments?
The field of aesthetics is deeply interdisciplinary, intersecting with art criticism, cultural studies, psychology, and even neuroscience, to understand how humans perceive and respond to aesthetic experiences. Aesthetic theory often involves the analysis of artworks, literature, music, and natural beauty, seeking to uncover the principles and criteria that govern aesthetic appreciation and creation.

A case for sex education that puts it in historical and philosophical context.

In the United States, sex education is more than just an uncomfortable rite of passage: it’s a political hobby horse that is increasingly out of touch with young people’s needs. In Touchy Subject, philosopher Lauren Bialystok and historian Lisa M. F. Andersen unpack debates over sex education, explaining why it’s worth fighting for, what points of consensus we can build upon, and what sort of sex education schools should pursue in the future.

Andersen surveys the history of school-based sex education in the United States, describing the key question driving reform in each era. In turn, Bialystok analyzes the controversies over sex education to make sense of the arguments and offer advice about how to make educational choices today. Together, Bialystok and Andersen argue for a novel framework, Democratic Humanistic Sexuality Education, which exceeds the current conception of “comprehensive sex education” while making room for contextual variation. More than giving an honest run-down of the birds and the bees, sex education should respond to the features of young people’s evolving worlds, especially the digital world, and the inequities that put some students at much higher risk of sexual harm than others. Throughout the book, the authors show how sex education has progressed and how the very concept of “progress” remains contestable.

Step into one of the most fascinating works of subterranean lore ever written. First published in 1908, The Smoky God recounts the extraordinary tale of Olaf Jansen, a Norwegian sailor who claimed to have journeyed with his father through an opening at the North Pole into a vast hidden land within the Earth.
Inside, they discovered a thriving civilization of giants, a lush inner sun known as “The Smoky God,” and a society far advanced in peace, longevity, and wisdom. Blending travel narrative, myth, and esoteric speculation, this gripping account has become a cornerstone of Hollow Earth theory and alternative history.
Is it fact, allegory, or pure imagination? That question continues to fuel its enduring mystery. What is certain is that Emerson’s book has inspired generations of explorers, mystics, and seekers to question the boundaries of geography, science, and human possibility.
Now brought to life in audiobook form, The Smoky God is more than a story—it is an invitation to explore the unknown and consider what wonders might lie hidden beneath our very feet.

Immigration is one of the most complicated issues of our time. Voices on all sides argue strongly for action and change. Christians find themselves torn between the desire to uphold laws and the call to minister to the vulnerable. In this book World Relief immigration experts Matthew Soerens and Jenny Yang move beyond the rhetoric to offer a Christian response to immigration. They put a human face on the issue and tell stories of immigrants' experiences in and out of the system. With careful historical understanding and thoughtful policy analysis, they debunk myths and misconceptions about immigration and show the limitations of the current immigration system. Ultimately they point toward immigration reform that is compassionate, sensible, and just as they offer concrete ways for you and your church to welcome and minister to your immigrant neighbors. This revised edition includes new material on refugees and updates in light of changes in political realities.
