Sinopsis

In The Four Million there are twenty-five stories of various lengths including several of his best known works such as "The Gift of the Magi" and "The Cop and the Anthem". The book's title refers to the then population of New York City where many of the stories are set. O. Henry was responding to a newspaper editorial which opined that there were only four hundred people in New York City worth knowing.

In the Grimm's version of the story, a king and a queen hold a great feast to celebrate the birth of their one and only child, a baby girl. In hopes that they will bestow blessings upon her daughter, the queen insists the thirteen fairies be invited to the event. The king, however, finds himself ill-prepared. In his set of gold plates there are only twelve, and so one of the fairies is cut from the guest list. But the overlooked fairy makes an appearance at the party regardless, and for the parents' slight she curses the daughter, that on her fifteenth birthday she shall prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die. It is only by the grace of the twelfth of the good fairies that the curse is altered, so that Briar Rose falls into a deep slumber for a hundred years, only to be awakened by the kiss of (who else?) a prince. It is a familiar tale.

From debut author Antwan Eady and artist Gracey Zhang comes a glowing tale about the young dreaming big. A perfect story to demonstrate how pride in where we come from can bring a shining confidence.
When Nigel looks up at the moon, his future is bright. He imagines himself as…an astronaut, a dancer, a superhero, too!
Among the stars, he twirls. With pride, his chest swells. And his eyes, they glow. Nigel is the most brilliant body in the sky.
But it’s Career Week at school, and Nigel can’t find the courage to share his dreams. It’s easy to whisper them to the moon, but not to his classmates—especially when he already feels out of place.
