Sinopsis

Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert Madame Bovary, originally published as Madame Bovary: Provincial Manners (French: Madame Bovary: Mœurs de province [madam bɔvaʁi mœʁ(s) də pʁɔvɛ̃s]), is the debut novel of French writer Gustave Flaubert, published in 1856. The eponymous character lives beyond her means in order to escape the banalities and emptiness of provincial life.

When the novel was first serialized in Revue de Paris between 1 October 1856 and 15 December 1856, public prosecutors attacked the novel for obscenity. The resulting trial in January 1857 made the story notorious. After Flaubert's acquittal on 7 February 1857, Madame Bovary became a bestseller in April 1857 when it was published in two volumes.

A seminal work of literary realism, the novel is now considered Flaubert's masterpiece, and one of the most influential literary works in history. The British critic James Wood writes: "Flaubert established, for good or ill, what most readers think of as modern realist narration, and his influence is almost too familiar to be visible."

Madame Bovary takes place in provincial Northern France, near the town of Rouen in Normandy. Charles Bovary is a shy, oddly dressed teenager arriving at a new school where his new classmates ridicule him.

He struggles his way to a second-rate medical degree, and becomes an Officier de santé in the Public Health Service. He marries the woman his mother has chosen for him, the unpleasant but supposedly rich widow Héloïse Dubuc. He sets out to build a practice in the village of Tôtes.
One day, Charles visits a local farm to set the owner's broken leg and meets his patient's daughter, Emma Rouault.

Dive into a mysterious world of romance, magic, and mermaids
Beneath the Waves, Secrets Await: discover a hidden realm where the line between fairy-tales and nightmares blur.
My move to Ireland was supposed to be a fresh start, after the tragic death of my parents. Instead, I found myself tangled in a chilling series of murders. As I pry open the cryptic chapters of my mother's hidden past, I'm caught in a treacherous current of intrigue, magic, and desire, pulled by two mysterious men: Sebastian, whose mystique and power are as deep as the ocean, and Ethan, whose allure is darkened by whispers of witchcraft and occult. Neither are quite what they seem.
With each tide, ancient powers stir within me—powers that could either save or condemn the merrow, an ancient race of mermaids lurking beneath the ocean's surface. As a pawn in a savage war that blurs the line between mortals and myths, I am both hunter and prey.
Here, between the land and sea, I unearth my true heritage: part mermaid, part witch, wholly entangled in an ancient war where witches hunt merrow for their potent blood and mermaids wage violent battles against their terrestrial foes. As the stakes soar, so does the danger.
Will the secrets of my mother's past drag me to the dark abyss, or will my own burgeoning powers lead to a fate more terrifying than the dark waters themselves? In this war, it's not just about surviving—it's about rewriting the fate of two worlds, entwined by violence and bound by blood.
In a race against time, I might be humanity's only salvation—or its ultimate downfall... but it could cost me the one thing my heart can't stand to lose.
Plunge into the shadowy depths of Ireland's coast in this dark fantasy, where ancient secrets swirl like the murky waters of the ocean, against a backdrop of star-crossed romance and deadly intrigue.

Uncle Remus' stories feature a trickster hero called Br'er Rabbit ("Brother" Rabbit), who uses his wits to slide out of trouble and gain the advantage over the slower witted other animals, many of whom are trying to eat him. Br'er Rabbit stories were mostly collected directly from the afro-american oral story-telling tradition and are said to be a direct interpretation of Yoruba tales of Hare.
