With about 45 min left, I arrived at work. Of course, I was going to be in very deep shit as I was well over an hour late.

I confidently strode into work. Right off the bat, the secretary handed me a piece of folded paper. I took it and heard her click her tongue "tut tut."

I ignored her and read the note:

You better fucking have a good excuse, Mark. This is your final warning!!!

More whispers and snickers. I turned around and confronted them.

"You shouldn't snicker behind your boss's back." I said calmly.

"We weren't." One of the ladies said. "We were snickering at you. Fortunately, you're not our boss."

I smiled politely. "Yet," I said and turned and strode into the boss's room.
