Jinshi sees an opportunity.

But it’s not all fun and games, as Jinshi learns when reports arrive of crops devastated by a plague of locusts in a remote village. All his attempts to forestall the insects’ devastation will soon be put to the test, and the outcome may mean survival or starvation.

What if it all came crashing down?
It started with the "Biggest" stock market crash in history. Banks shut down under the weight of their bogus investments, and the financial sector failed. People looked to the government to make it all better. They couldn't! Hyper-inflation, mass unemployment and infrastructure started to breakdown. The food trucks didn't show up at the stores and the shelves went empty.
Things turned ugly fast when there was no power for long parts of the day... then forever. Things started falling apart quicker after that. Whole regions declared a "State of Emergency" in an effort to maintain order and civility, but it wasn't always enough. Starvation, looting and murder became the norm. Then, American civilization collapsed completely.
The Fall of America: Book 2 continues John's story of survival and resistance after society breaks down. Russian invaders continue to try and pacify the areas of the South under their control. American resistance groups divide their forces into small cells to better operate effectively behind enemy lines. But as their efforts begin to gain ground the Russians respond with harsh reprisals; mass executions become the norm and prison camps soon spring up in remote small towns. “Fear brings compliance,” is their motto.
The battle for Mississippi gets hot, and a violent world gets even more ugly. Can the U.S. partisans survive the overwhelming Russian Army and its thermal detection technology/helicopter gunships and scorched earth tactics?

In a time when the United States military is shrinking, our leaders are turning to high technology as a force equalizer. America has not had a new hand-held rifle since the M16 was introduced in the 1960s. Now there's a new gun ready to take its position as the NATO standard. A gun so sophisticated, so fast, so unbelievably accurate, it will turn the average shooter into an expert marksman almost instantly. The problem is, it was developed by a German company with no United States production contract. That's where Warfield Arms, a Denver gun company, enters the action. Warfield hires Chad Hunter, a private weapons designer who had worked for the German company, to go to Germany to convince the company that Warfield is the perfect partner. To sweeten the deal, Hunter must first convince Frank Baldwin, a struggling optics engineer from Wyoming, who has developed the most advanced rifle scope ever conceived, that his scope would be the perfect match for this new German rifle. With the scope as bait, the Germans would surely deal. What Hunter and Baldwin find in Germany during the middle of the Oktoberfest celebration, could just get them both killed. Other countries and private factions would like this new weapon, and some in Germany want it only for that country.

Immediately, the story spreads about a Midas buffalo that…ahem…poops golden chips. The normally rational townsfolk become crazed with gold fever and set off en masse to capture this magical beast, but a few folks aren’t so sure. Libby Barrett, ace reporter for the Somerville Independent, suspects someone is playing a prank on the town, but what to make of the golden buffalo chip and the very dead Indian? It’s a puzzle that Libby sets her sights to solve; a quest for truth that very quickly turns deadly.

Former cop turned investigator Stefan Kopriva has long endured the fallout from the fatal mistake that drove him from the police force fourteen years ago. Eking out his redemption one bit at a time, Kopriva has finally reached a point in his life that finds him stable and reasonably happy.
Then the mother who abandoned him when he was a toddler returns to River City and completely shakes up his world.
Though professing to be sober and seeking to reconnect with her son, Kopriva is initially suspicious of her intentions. But his own desire to fill the void that she created all those years ago urges him to accept, and perhaps even forgive, her. Not only that, but the woman seems to be sincere in every way, causing Kopriva to trust her and to believe.
What follows is a shocking betrayal and a murder that sends Kopriva on perhaps the darkest journey of his life. He seeks out the truth, even though it isn't what he wants it to be. For better or worse, Kopriva knows that hope dies last.
