Sinossi

An important book for readers of all ages, Irvine Press brings quality biographies for kids through engagingly written volumes of true-to-life stories of important figures in history.

Our message is simple: Dream Big, We'll Show You How.

This year's Easter Sunday is different from what the eight years old twin brothers, Mark Jacob and Vester John, were used to because every year, they spend their Easter Sunday at their grandparents' house in Arkansas, and their cousins would also come to visit. They always do Easter egg hunts together, like a family reunion. However, this year, they are the only ones who visited their grandparents since their cousins went for an overseas vacation. The twins got into a fight after their egg hunting event that was prepared by their grandparents and mother. As a punishment, the twins' mother ordered them to do an errand, which Mark really hated doing. The twins did not finish the task and decided to wander in the woods near their grandfather's farm. The twins decided to explore the woods until they saw a sign etched on a tree's bark. They followed the direction, and it led them to the entrance of a labyrinth. Since the two love adventures, they decided to enter the labyrinth. Their mission is to find the golden egg before it gets dark. They also must work together for them to find the exit because it won't be as easy as how they managed to find their way in. The two ended up getting lost while searching for the exit. Will the twins find the exit and manage to get out of the labyrinth?

Among these biographies, readers will find exceptional and notable men and women across varying disciplines to instill a sense of purpose and goal oriented living from an early age. Discover how each life was shaped and transformed through passion, determination, grit.

Did you know Band-Aids were invented by accident?! And that they weren't mass-produced until the Boy Scouts gave their seal of approval? 1920s cotton buyer Earle Dickson worked for Johnson & Johnson and had a klutzy wife who often cut herself. The son of a doctor, Earle set out to create an easier way for her to bandage her injuries. Band-Aids were born, but Earle's bosses at the pharmaceutical giant weren't convinced, and it wasn't until the Boy Scouts of America tested Earle's prototype that this ubiquitous household staple was made available to the public. Soon Band-Aids were selling like hotcakes, and the rest is boo-boo history.

    5 Stars - Readers’ Favorite.
This is Seamus the dog's story, told in his own words.
Seamus is lonely. He has a lot he'd like to say; especially to his best friend Sophie, but he's just a dog. He wants to know why she keeps on leaving him all day; has she found a new best friend?
Sophie, meanwhile, is having trouble with her new job. She can't find the right actor to play the leading man in a film she's working on. Seamus would be perfect for the role but he's just a dog... until one day, with the flash of an old magic wand, both their lives change.

'This is a great story to either be read to small children, or for teenagers to enjoy and myself as a mature lady enjoyed it and I can't wait to share it with my grandchildren. I would happily read it over and over again as a bedtime story.' Good Reads reader

A stand-alone companion to two-time Newbery Honor author Kevin Henkes’s award-winning and acclaimed The Year of Billy Miller. With themes of family, friendship, and resilience, this very funny school story focuses on Billy’s little sister, Sal, and her first day of school. For fans of Ramona, Ivy + Bean, and Dory Fantasmagory.
Sal has been looking forward to first grade for a long time. But her excitement quickly turns to disappointment when she learns that her best friend, Griff, is in the other first-grade classroom and has the most popular teacher. Then Sal’s name is spelled wrong on her name tag, she trips in front of the cool fifth graders, and her self-portrait doesn’t turn out the way she wanted it to. In fact, everything about school is an absolute disaster. Poor Sal!
Luckily for Sal, she has understanding parents, a terrific new teacher, and empathetic friends who remind her that it takes time to adjust to change. And sure enough, after a few days, Sal feels like herself again.
Still Sal highlights themes of family, friendship, social and emotional growth, resilience, and adapting to change. The fourth stand-alone book in the Miller Family sequence is an excellent choice for early elementary grades, for readers ready for a short novel, and for family and classroom read-alouds.
