Sinopsis

The closer she comes to the truth, the deadlier her chase gets.

FBI behavioral analyst Alex Donovan and her colleague Logan Hart have been called upon to write a profile for a missing woman, but a little digging quickly turns up more disappearances in Virginia with the same physical description.

Alex is in a race against the clock to rescue the missing victims, so when the UNSUB makes demands of her in exchange for information, Alex takes the bait. But when her life is put in jeopardy, Logan must do whatever it takes to track them down before time runs out.

Alex works to think one step ahead of the suspect, but the more Logan and the BAU learn about the serial kidnapper, the more they fear Alex may not make it out alive.

After 60 years at Gethsemani Abbey, Br. Paul follows up his recent memoir, In Praise of the Useless Life, with a poetic collection that shows how to do just that – by writing poetry.

Amounting to Nothing is both practical and metaphysical, a puzzling over the ultimate things of life, and a descending on the Benedictine ladder of humility to the earthly creatures surrounding a Kentucky monastery. This is less an exploration in self-knowledge than a forgetting of self in the wonders of everything. Quenon treads bare footed on the margins of mortality and immortality, with wit, thought, and hope.

Jesus healed people and preached the Kingdom of God. For healthcare professionals serving Christ, especially in cross-cultural missions, integrating faith and practice can be challenging. How do you share your faith appropriately? Is compassionate care enough? How does healthcare ministry advance Jesus' Great Commission to disciple the nations? Often, healthcare and gospel ministry follow separate agendas.Healthcare and the Mission of God shows Christians how to recover an integrated view of healthcare ministry. Healing and faith belong together within the larger story of the Bible—from creation to redemption—a clear picture of God’s purpose for humanity includes compassionate care. The author shares stories of God’s grace as Christian medical professionals face the challenges of global missions.Jesus invites healthcare workers to be transformed for His glory while He works through them to heal those who are broken and suffering. Cross-cultural mission challenges become His invitation to joy.

What Was In It For Jesus

The thoughts about what is in “it” for Jesus came to me when this verse was read during a worship service in my local fellowship.
I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance (Ephesians 1:18).
I found it amazing to think that believers, his holy people, could be his rich and glorious inheritance.
Probably like most other Jesus followers, my focus has always been on what is in it for me. But what was in it for Jesus? "It" refers to His incarnation and sacrificial death. "It" refers to all those benefits that I think about. I have some knowledge of what I have gained by becoming a child of God and a Jesus follower, but what has Jesus gained by having me be one of His children? We know He has many children. What has Jesus gained by having many children? Really, what is in it for Him?
In this book, I have explored many illustrations, examples, and metaphors that are given in Scripture that give insight into the relationship between the Jesus follower and Jesus. This different perspective of looking at what Jesus had to gain actually magnifies what Jesus followers gain in their relationship with Jesus.
Here are a few examples detailed in the book: Creator-created, Father-child of God, King-subjects, head-body (church), leader-follower, and others.

One year after her family was in a tragic car accident that killed her teenage son, Lori Mendenhall returns home with a traumatic brain injury that has stolen the last eight years of memories from her. She is shocked to find that the life she was leading before the accident is unrecognizable. Her once-loving husband, Michael, is a distant workaholic she isn't sure she can trust and her once-bubbly daughter, Avery, has spent the last year hidden away in her room.

For Avery, life stopped when she lost her twin. Now, if she wants to graduate high school, she'll have to accept help from Xander Dixon, her brother's best friend and the boy who relentlessly teased her for years. And if Lori wants to reconnect with her husband, she'll have to grapple with information her brain is trying to keep secret. With every memory that returns, she can't help but wonder if the life she can't remember is one she'd rather forget.
